  • An Associate Degree or two years of youth development or related experience is required.
  • A flexible schedule and the ability to work evenings and weekends are required.
  • Project management skills are required.

  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • The candidate must be able to create and maintain professional boundaries.
  • Strong mediation and de-escalation skills are required.
Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with the Youth Development Team to support life skills programming and ensure growth and development opportunities are available to CHNY youth.
  • Provide staff coverage for weekday and Saturday programming.
  • Assist in creating and managing the monthly program calendar.
  • Assist with creating and posting event flyers.
  • Assist with facilitating new resident orientation.
  • Promote programs so residents are aware of available opportunities and activities, and motivate residents to participate.
  • Attend Youth Development planning meetings as needed.
  • Provide clerical support, including preparing correspondence responses, creating meeting agendas, and maintaining minutes.
  • Provide technical support, including scheduling Care & Collaboration steering committee meetings and focus groups and creating reports and spreadsheets to track data.
  • Prioritize the office workload and work collaboratively with colleagues to meet assigned deadlines.
  • De-escalate conflicts among clients through non-violent intervention.
  • Instruct and demonstrate Covenant House’s mission and five principles to youth.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience providing program support for a childcare nonprofit organization is preferred.
  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
