Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Build customer relationships and conduct sales activities.
  • Interact with customers by phone, in person, and electronically.
  • Respond to customer needs quickly and accurately to provide customer service.
  • Work as part of a sales team to grow sales and achieve branch and company sales and profitability goals.
  • Learn and sell all products and services sold by the company.
  • Enter sales orders using the enterprise resource planning system and coordinate delivery or customer pickup with Branch Operations.
  • Keep customers informed about order changes, including product availability and delivery dates.
  • Generate formal quotes using the enterprise resource planning system to communicate material pricing and availability.
  • Support Outside Sales Associates in responding to assigned customer needs.
  • Monitor competitive situations and market intelligence and relay relevant information to the manager.
  • Place outbound customer calls to generate additional orders and follow up on quotes.
  • Maintain product knowledge to answer customer questions about product features, benefits, specifications, and installation methods.
  • Collect and process customer payments for cash-on-delivery and past-due accounts receivable balances.
  • Perform administrative duties related to customer orders and returns.
  • Follow company standard operating procedures and policies.
  • Complete special projects assigned by the manager.
  • Develop business relationships through face-to-face sales calls with assigned customers to identify opportunities, provide value, and grow sales.
  • Conduct each sales call with a specific purpose that provides value to the customer.
  • Identify gaps between customers' desired state and their current material supplier, determine what motivates each customer to purchase, and respond accordingly.
  • Report face-to-face sales call summaries using the company customer relationship management system.
