Responsibilities
  • Manage the admissions process to ensure a positive experience for residents, families and supporting staff
  • Planning, directing and monitoring the daily operations of the Admissions Department to ensure that budgeted resident census goals are met and that residents are admitted in a professional and efficient manner
  • Admits patients to the health care facility
  • Screens patients by comparing patients’ condition to admission criteria
  • Admits patients by completing admission and financial responsibility forms
  • Plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the Sales and Marketing department
  • Work collaboratively with leaders of other facility departments to ensure timely communication of appropriate information and to enhance the admissions experience of residents and their families
  • Confirms that all insurance benefit coverage meets standards of admissions
  • Coordination and arranging physical, social, emotional and support services requirements, including transportation
  • Obtain applicant information by requesting completed applications and medical information; verifying and clarifying information; interviewing patients and family members; explaining admission criteria
  • Maintains comprehensive understanding of facility services that can be provided to prospective residents and educates referral sources as appropriate
  • Oversees the patients bed assignments and completion of preminary paperwork for admissions
  • Obtain Applicant information by requesting complete applications and medical information; verifying and clarifying information; interviewing patients and family members; explaining admission criteria
  • Completes additional facility-specific ongoing tasks and projects as assigned by immediate supervisor
  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the facility
  • Completes resident intake process. Coordinates with Director of Nursing and/or Case Manager to assure appropriateness of facility admissions. Maintains and communicates accurate record of bed availability
  • Works to initiate, nurture and maintain contacts with physicians, social workers, and discharge planners as valued customers to maximize referrals and facilitate admissions
  • Must attend daily stand-up meetings
  • Be familiar with Standard Precautions, Exposure Control Plan, Fire Drill and Evacuation Procedures and know how to use the information
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information. Report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure of such information
  • Protects organization reputation by keeping information confidential
  • As directed, assists in planning and execution of outreach events such as on-site facility health fairs, educational programs, and other promotional events designed to attract hospital discharge planners, physicians, and other key persons to the facility
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reasing professional publications and maintaining personal networks
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in health care or related field (preferred)
  • Two years of Admissions experience preferred
  • LVN or RN license preferred

PACS Group acquires Alaska care facility, plans 150-bed skilled nursing centre by 2028

PACS Group has acquired Ridgeway Senior Living, a post-acute care facility in Anchorage, Alaska, marking its fourth property in the state. PACS Group has appointed Carey P. Hendrickson as chief financial officer, effective 27 April 2026. Hendrickson brings nearly four decades of financial leadership across healthcare, senior living and media sectors. Most recently, Hendrickson served as CFO of U.S. Physical Therapy, overseeing 779 outpatient clinics across 44 states. He previously held CFO roles at Capital Senior Living Corporation, managing 128 communities across 23 states, and Belo Corp. He succeeds Mark Hancock, PACS's co-founder and executive vice chairman, who will retire by 30 June 2026 whilst remaining on the board as vice chairman. PACS Group has announced that co-founder and chief financial officer Mark Hancock will retire on 30 June 2026. He will continue serving on the company's board of directors as vice chairman. Hancock co-founded PACS in 2013 with Jason Murray, starting with two post-acute care facilities in San Diego. Under his leadership, the company expanded to 323 facilities across 17 states, serving over 31,700 patients daily and generating $5.29 billion in revenue in 2025, representing 29.3% year-on-year growth. Hancock guided PACS through its successful initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange in April 2024 and served as interim CFO from September 2025. He will be succeeded by Carey P. PACS Group appoints Optum CEO Dr Patrick Conway, former CMS deputy administrator, to board

PACS Group, a leading post-acute healthcare platform, has appointed Dr Patrick Conway to its board of directors. Dr Conway currently serves as CEO of Optum, UnitedHealth Group's health services division with revenues exceeding $200 billion. From 2011 to 2017, Dr Conway served as deputy administrator for innovation and quality at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, where he also held roles as director of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation and chief medical officer. During his tenure, he led the transformation of Medicare payment policy, increasing payments in alternative payment models from virtually zero to over 30% of total Medicare payments.
