JioStar Consumer Products & Bonkers Corner unveil streetwear range.

JioStar Consumer Products & Bonkers Corner unveil streetwear range. The merchandise collaboration translates hip-hop aesthetics from television into an everyday fashion line. JioStar Consumer Products has partnered with apparel brand Bonkers Corner to launch an exclusive licensed streetwear range for the fifth season of rap reality programme Hustle. Said Mahesh Shetty, Head - Entertainment Sales, TV, JioStar: "Over the seasons, Hustle has given India's hip-hop community a stage, a voice and an identity. Style is central to that identity, and what our Hustlers wear is a natural extension of the music they make. In Bonkers Corner, we found a partner that speaks the same language as our audience and understands street culture from the inside, which allowed us to build a collection that lets fans carry the spirit of Hustle well beyond the screen. With Shop the Look on JioHotstar working alongside Bonkers Corner's strong online and retail presence, the journey from watching to wearing becomes seamless, and this is exactly the kind of authentic, culture-led collaboration we want to build our consumer products business on, one that deepens the bond between our IPs and the fans who love them." Said Shubham Gupta, Founder, Bonkers Corner: "We've always built Bonkers around self-expression, and Hustle embodies that mindset. This collaboration lets us take streetwear beyond fashion and into the culture, energy and conversations shaping young India." The partnership links television content directly with physical retail distribution.

Karthik Anantha Subramanian takes charge of fiction at Sun NXT.

Karthik Anantha Subramanian takes charge of fiction at Sun NXT. The writer-producer-director, formerly an executive producer at JioHotstar, will now steer movies and series across Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam 1 hour ago October 8, 2026 CHENNAI: Out with the old, in with the new, and no time wasted in between. Karthik Anantha Subramanian has wrapped up a five-year stint at JioStar and, within weeks, is already running the show at Sun NXT as head of fiction (south). Three weeks into the job, he says the energy has been amazing. His brief is wide. Karthik, who started in September 2026 and works from Chennai, will develop and produce movies and series across Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam, three of India's most closely watched streaming markets. It is a big canvas, and he arrives with more than 12 years in media production and content development as a writer, producer and director. The track record helps. At JioHotstar, where he served as executive producer from August 2021, Karthik released more than ten shows, among them Heartbeat, Label, Parachute, LBW, Good Wife and Nadu Center. That is a decent run for any producer, and a useful calling card for a platform that wants to build its fiction slate. He describes the JioStar chapter as a memorable one, spanning five years, and says he is grateful to everyone he worked with and for the experiences that challenged and shaped him. Karthik is also a pen-wielding creative, not merely a manager of them. He wrote the story and screenplay of "Chilli Chicken", a 120-minute feature film now streaming on Amazon Prime. That combination of writing, producing and directing matters in a job where the hardest part is often knowing which scripts deserve a green light. A head of fiction who has sat in the writers' chair tends to speak the same language as the people pitching. The earlier part of his career points to a taste for building things. At Crea Shakthi, where he spent six years from July 2015, he rose from training executive to creative head, a post he held from July 2019 to July 2021. As creative head, he headed operations, oversaw the release of Crea-Play, an OTT and edtech app (creaplay.app, creashakthi.com), conceptualised new creative initiatives spanning films, shows, digital content and e-books, and led an organisation of more than 20 people. Before that, he spent a year as a project engineer at Wipro Technologies, from July 2014 to July 2015. Engineer, trainer, app builder, writer, producer: an unusual path, but one that blends creative instinct with operational discipline. For Sun NXT, the appointment signals intent to deepen its original fiction across the south. For Karthik, it is a fresh chapter. "Here's to new stories, new challenges, and a new chapter," he says. If the early energy is any guide, the next few seasons of southern streaming could be worth watching.

JioStar brings Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli together in film ahead of 2027 World Cup.

JioStar brings Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli together in film ahead of 2027 World Cup. October 7, 2026 JioStar unveiled a new film bringing together India legends Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in a rare and candid coming together, setting the stage for what promises to be a monumental year ahead for Team India. With the Road to the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2027 gathering momentum, the duo look ahead to an action-packed year for Indian cricket, beginning with Sri Lanka's tour of India from December 13. As India set their sights on a fourth consecutive ICC title and Rohit and Kohli look ahead to their final ICC World Cup campaign, 2027 promises to be a significant chapter in Indian cricket. Conceptualised by JioStar, the film brings together Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in a light-hearted conversation as they reminisce about their journey with Team India. Celebrating their passion for the game, the film also offers fans a glimpse into the duo's playful side, as they cheekily recreate the signature celebrations of KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja and Captain Shubman Gill. As their conversation draws to a close, the duo turn their attention to the road ahead and the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2027, setting up the film's punchline: "Desh ka sawaal hai, maza toh aayega" (It's a matter of the country's pride, it's going to be fun). Fresh off a 2-1 series victory over the West Indies and with less than a year to the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2027, India's upcoming ODI assignments, beginning with Sri Lanka, will be key in the team's preparations, with respect to form and combination, particularly with Kohli and Sharma headlining the playing XI. Viewers can catch all the live action from the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka from December 13-19, exclusively on JioHotstar and Star Sports Network.

JioStar hires three senior leaders for entertainment digital ad sales.

JioStar hires three senior leaders for entertainment digital ad sales. Sudhir Shukla joins as executive vice president, with Rachit Jain and Junaid Khwaja as senior vice presidents, to drive branding, commerce and content IP revenue 2 hours ago October 7, 2026 MUMBAI: Three hires, three specialist briefs and one clear message: JioStar wants a sharper edge in digital advertising. The company is expanding its Entertainment Digital Ad Sales team, bringing in three senior leaders to separately drive branding, commerce and content IP-led revenue as it builds deeper capabilities across key digital growth areas. Sudhir Shukla has joined as executive vice president, Entertainment Ad Sales, Digital (LCS Branding). Rachit Jain has joined as senior vice president, Entertainment Ad Sales, Digital (LCS Commerce). Junaid Khwaja has joined as senior vice president, Entertainment Ad Sales, Digital (Content IPs). The appointments were communicated internally by Bhaskar Ramesh, head, Entertainment Sales, Digital, JioStar. He said the additions were aimed at strengthening LCS Branding, LCS Commerce and Content IPs, bringing the company closer to customers through specialised focus, accelerating innovation and unlocking the next phase of growth. The hires come with changes in responsibilities within the digital sales team. Amrita Bharadwaj will report to Shukla and lead all CPG, while Amandeep Mittal will continue to report to Ramesh with a focus on Mid-Market. Aashish Gupta will now report to Ramesh and lead Digital PRS. Shubhra Sethi, Bikash Kundu and Vivek Modi will continue to support both the Digital and Linear Entertainment Revenue teams. Sudhir Shukla joins to lead LCS Branding Shukla brings more than two decades of experience across CPG, retail, online businesses and media. He was most recently chief operating officer and P&L head at More Retail. Before that, he held leadership roles across Cars24, Star Sports and Mondelez. In the internal communication, Ramesh said Shukla had demonstrated a strong track record of scaling businesses, building brands, driving advertiser partnerships and delivering sustained growth across large and complex operating environments. Shukla holds a PGDBM in finance and marketing from XLRI Jamshedpur and a B.E. in electronics engineering from VESIT, Mumbai University. Rachit Jain to lead LCS Commerce Jain joins JioStar with more than 20 years of experience across digital advertising, technology and media. Most recently, he co-founded Sparkonomy, an AI-led platform serving content creators. Before that, he led Meta India's Mid-Market and Growth Businesses, where his responsibilities included revenue strategy and client partnerships across a portfolio of high-growth advertisers. Jain also spent more than a decade at Google across India and the US, working across industry sales, video monetisation, product strategy and cloud solutions. The internal note highlighted his experience in building revenue businesses and advertiser relationships across technology and digital advertising platforms, as JioStar strengthens its commerce-focused digital sales capability. Jain holds a PGDBM from MDI Gurgaon and a B.Tech in information technology from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi. Junaid Khwaja takes charge of Content IPs Khwaja joins with more than 18 years of experience across media and technology platforms. He was most recently senior vice president and national sales head at Dream11. Before that, he led agency partnerships and media sales for Amazon Ads India. His earlier experience includes stints across Amazon, Twitter, Viacom18 Digital's Voot and Radio Mirchi. Ramesh said Khwaja's experience across these businesses had given him deep expertise in advertiser partnerships, platform monetisation, content-led solutions and scaling sales organisations. Khwaja holds a PGDM in business management from Welingkar Institute of Management, Mumbai, and a B.E. in computer engineering from K.J. Somaiya College of Engineering, Mumbai. The logic of the line-up is easy to read. Digital advertising is no longer one big pot of inventory. Brands want help with building awareness, advertisers want a route from screen to shelf, and content owners want their biggest properties turned into revenue. By giving each of those jobs to a dedicated leader, JioStar is betting that focus will beat breadth. The résumés fit the plan: Shukla knows the buyer's side of CPG and retail, Jain has sold to high-growth advertisers at Meta and Google, and Khwaja has run sales at Amazon Ads and Dream11. Just as telling is what has been left joined up. Some roles stay aligned across digital and linear entertainment revenue teams, a sign that JioStar wants specialist depth without losing the advantage of a combined offer. The three appointments come as the company strengthens specialised leadership across branding, commerce and content IPs within its Entertainment Digital Ad Sales business. If the strategy works, advertisers will find a sharper conversation waiting at every door.
