Responsibilities
Handle projects from start to finish with little to no oversight, including the company's most complex projects.
Solve complex technical issues on projects.
Assess project requirements, break projects into tasks, and work with the Project Manager to determine scope of work, budget, and staffing.
Write the scope of work for mechanical design based on preliminary reviews and meetings with the client.
Prepare engineering studies and schematic designs for new systems.
Analyze the operation of existing systems.
Work with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to building codes is required.
Assign and review the work of the project design team.
Check work progress and alert the Project Manager to changes in scope or additional services.
Review contractor applications for payment.
Coordinate all aspects of project document completion within the company and externally with clients and other design professionals.
Prepare or review construction budgets based on project experience and scope.
Supervise staff on multiple projects, provide assertive management, technical leadership, and support to team members, and verify that work is completed as planned and scheduled in compliance with client and company quality assurance practices.
Mentor younger staff.

Professional Engineer credential preferred.
