  • 3+ years managing a team of 10+ staff
  • Must be available on weekends, holidays, overnights. Extended shift hours may be required.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver technology projects supporting news operations (broadcast, digital, live events).
  • Oversee technology setup, logistics, and staffing for major news events.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams for system migrations, upgrades, and testing.
  • Communicate goals, timelines, and outcomes to key partners and management
  • Manage lifecycle of technology assets (procurement, deployment, maintenance, disposal) across multiple locations.
  • Ensure robust system administration, patching, vulnerability remediation, and monitoring using enterprise tools.
  • Participate in administration of enterprise applications and user provisioning (Active Directory, OKTA, O365, Citrix, JAMF).
  • Maintain system reliability, security, and compliance. (encompassing high-risk environments)
  • Develop and oversee budgets, capital purchase requests, scopes of work, purchase orders, and invoice processing.
  • Participate in vendor selection, contract negotiation, and relationships with Corp Business Affairs and Corp Vendor Management.
  • Provide financial updates to News and Corporate Finance; resolve invoice discrepancies and renew contracts.
  • Establish and implement IT service management guidelines and information security (ITIL or similar frameworks).
  • Oversee employee onboarding/offboarding, asset recovery, and compliance with HR and Legal requirements.
  • Monitor ServiceNow incidents and requests; establish KPIs and operational metrics.
  • Lead incident response, security assessments, and InfoSec initiatives.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing technical team.
  • Coordinate staffing schedules and resource allocation
  • Champion, knowledge sharing, documentation, and training.
  • Liaise between inter-company technical teams, news leadership, and external partners.
  • Communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical partners.
  • Maintain organized documentation for systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Engage proactively with business units, InfoSec, Network Engineering, and other departments.

A federal judge approved Paramount Skydance's settlement with 12 US states on Wednesday, clearing the way for its $111 billion takeover of Warner Bros Discovery to close on 6 October. The settlement requires the combined company to release at least 30 films annually for five years. For each film it falls short, it must pay $30 million. If it fails to meet quotas, it must also sell its minority stake in Miramax. The merged entity must spend $300 million more yearly on US production than Paramount and Warner Bros spent in 2025. At least 20 films must open on 2,000-plus screens in years one and two, rising to 21 in years three to five. The commitment period begins in 2027. Industry groups including Free Press and the Future Film Coalition had urged the court to reject the settlement as insufficiently protective.

The states, led by California's attorney general, had argued the combination would create excessive market concentration in theatrical films and television channels. The company faces a $30 million penalty per missed film, plus mandatory divestiture of its Miramax stake. Paramount names Mattel's Ynon Kreiz as co-CEO ahead of $110B WBD merger

David Ellison announced Ynon Kreiz as co-CEO of Paramount ahead of its $110 billion merger with Warner Bros. Discovery. Kreiz, former CEO of Mattel since 2018, will join Paramount on Monday as the deal finalises. In a memo to employees, Ellison said their skills complement each other and they share a vision for the company. Ellison will lead creative and tech strategy, whilst Kreiz will oversee day-to-day operations and deal integration. Kreiz previously led Mattel's transformation and brand-centric strategy. Before that, he served as chairman and CEO of Maker Studios and Endemol Group. Ellison told staff there's "nobody I'd rather have standing next to me" as they build what he called "one of the most ambitious next-generation media companies in the industry's history.
