Hack The Box builds a platform for practical cybersecurity learning and recruitment. It provides a library of hands-on labs, gamified challenges, and capture-the-flag exercises that users can access through a freemium model—free for basic content with paid upgrades for advanced features. Users practice real-world security tasks in controlled environments, improving skills by doing rather than reading. The platform also serves as a talent pipeline, helping businesses identify and recruit cybersecurity professionals from a pool of proven, practical skills. What makes HTB stand out is its gamified approach (labs, CTFs, and features like Hacker of the Month) that makes learning engaging and goal-oriented. Ultimately, HTB aims to educate individuals, support organizations in strengthening their security teams, and connect skilled practitioners with employers.

Hack The Box has launched AI Range Enterprise Edition, a platform enabling organisations to test and measure the effectiveness of AI security agents in performing assigned cybersecurity roles. The offering allows companies to evaluate AI agent performance against defined job roles in controlled cyber environments. The platform introduces two key features: Agentic Worker Competence, which appraises AI agents against specific cybersecurity roles, and Agentic Operator Competence Scoring, which evaluates whether cybersecurity professionals can effectively oversee AI agents' work and intervene when necessary. HTB first introduced AI Range in December 2025. The enterprise edition builds on testing by AI labs, government customers, and hyperscalers. The platform provides role-based scores and tracks performance over time as agents, models, and operating conditions change. Hack The Box was named a Leader in The Forrester Wave for Cybersecurity Skills and Training Platforms in Q1 2026.
Hack The Box, a global AI cybersecurity readiness platform with over 800 enterprise customers and 4.3 million security professionals, has appointed Konstantinos Dolkas as Chief Technology Officer and promoted Christine Bartlett to Chief Marketing Officer. Dolkas brings nearly 20 years of executive technology leadership experience across cybersecurity and SaaS. He previously served as CTO at OWNR Deutschland GmbH and holds a Ph.D. in cloud computing architecture from the National Technical University of Athens. As CTO, he will oversee HTB's engineering organisation and technology strategy. Bartlett joined HTB as Vice President of Marketing in 2025. As CMO, she will lead the company's global marketing organisation and oversee brand, communications, and go-to-market strategy. The appointments aim to support HTB's expansion across enterprise, government, and managed security service provider markets.
Hack The Box has been named a Leader in The Forrester Wave: Cybersecurity Skills and Training Platforms, Q1 2026. The AI-powered cybersecurity readiness platform received the highest possible scores in 13 evaluation criteria, including agentic AI readiness, gamification and learner experience. The company has raised $295 million to date and serves over 4 million members and 800 enterprise customers, including Fortune 500 companies and government agencies. HTB recently launched AI Range, a cyber range for testing autonomous AI security agents, and Threat Range, an enterprise crisis simulation platform. The company also acquired LetsDefend to strengthen its defensive training capabilities. Forrester's report notes HTB's "future-focused" innovation strategy around AI security, emerging threats and operational readiness, calling it "a strong fit" for organisations preparing teams for AI-augmented security environments.
Hack The Box Ltd. has acquired LetsDefend Inc., a blue team training platform provider, for an undisclosed amount. LetsDefend, founded in 2021, offers an interactive platform focused on developing defensive cybersecurity skills. Unlike platforms that emphasize offensive training, LetsDefend provides hands-on defensive experience in a simulated security operations center, allowing users to investigate various simulated cyber incidents.
