Requirements
  • A college or university degree in a related field.
  • Knowledge and skills developed through less than two years of work experience in a related job discipline.
Responsibilities
  • Work with prostate cancer cell lines and animal models and, under the supervision of the principal investigator or postdoctoral fellow, carry out various in vitro and in vivo experiments.
  • Collect and process patient-derived material for downstream analysis.
  • Perform cell culture and in vitro experiments, including Western immunoblot, RNA isolation and quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction, cell line transfection and infection, and proliferation assays.
  • Work with others in the laboratory on in vivo tumor progression studies.
  • Collect and process patient blood or tissues and extract cancer cells for analysis.
  • Maintain technical and administrative support for a research project.
  • Analyze and maintain data and/or specimens.
  • Conduct literature reviews.
  • Assist with preparation of reports, manuscripts, and other documents.
  • Perform other related work as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • Relevant research experience.
  • Willingness to work with rodents.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of research techniques and methods.
  • Ability to work with little direct oversight.
  • Ability to work within a larger research team.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
