Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required, with technical or industry-related experience preferred.
  • A valid electrical license is required in accordance with state-specific requirements.
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the assigned territory are required.
  • Strong understanding of NFPA 72, the National Electrical Code, Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations, and fire alarm system theory is required.
  • Hands-on experience with fire alarm systems from major manufacturers such as Notifier, Siemens, Edwards, Simplex, Fire Lite, Gamewell FCI, and Honeywell is required.
  • The ability to troubleshoot and solve problems methodically is required.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with customers, contractors, and internal teams are required.
  • The ability to work independently, manage multiple service assignments, and prioritize the workday is required.
  • A professional, team-oriented approach and commitment to customer service are required.
Responsibilities
  • Service, program, test, inspect, and troubleshoot basic and complex fire alarm systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance and corrective repairs in accordance with NFPA 72 and company standards.
  • Identify code deficiencies and provide clear, professional recommendations for system improvements.
  • Respond to emergency calls as required, including nights, weekends, and on-call rotations.
  • Collaborate with contractors, building personnel, and internal teams to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
  • Accurately document service activities, including findings, work performed, and parts used.
  • Communicate with customers, supervisors, and office staff about status, next steps, and concerns.
  • Maintain safety, quality, and customer satisfaction on every job site.
Desired Qualifications
  • Three or more years of experience inspecting, servicing, or repairing fire alarm systems.
  • NICET certification in water-based systems for inspection, testing, or layout.
  • Experience supporting both service and small project work.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting apprentices or less experienced technicians in the field.
  • Experience working across multiple manufacturers and adapting to different panels and devices.
  • A record of clean, complete documentation and proactively keeping customers informed.
