Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) required, preferably in engineering, plus one to two years of related experience; alternatively, five years of related experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals, and effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Ability to work with probability, statistical inference, plane and solid geometry, trigonometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
  • Ability to lead team members and activities, prioritize requirements to meet deliverables, solve practical problems, and interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, and schedule-based instructions.
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, design, computer-aided design, order-processing, and project-management software.
  • Ability to work within the strict compliance requirements of International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Responsibilities
  • Support new business development and outside sales efforts.
  • Collect information and support preparation of proposals for new business development.
  • Coordinate new-program planning and launch preparations.
  • Establish working relationships with project team members and customer service representatives.
  • Confirm or define the scope of work.
  • Review customer-supplied program materials and draft program plans and pre-production schedules.
  • Ensure services meet applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate confidential concerns and non-disclosure agreement requirements, identify risks, and control information in accordance with contractual obligations.
  • Identify resource, capital, equipment, non-recurring engineering, raw-material, and purchased-parts requirements.
  • Ensure program information is reviewed and entered into the electronic document-control system.
  • Maintain financial tracking and cost management for each program.
  • Follow the phase-gate process for product realization.
  • Ensure process flow diagrams, failure mode and effects analysis, and control plans are completed as required.
  • Schedule and lead program team meetings, review program plans, and coordinate launch-team activities.
  • Ensure project activity trackers are current and published.
  • Keep projects on schedule, escalate bottlenecks, and keep projects at or under budget.
  • Manage customer communications and provide project-status reporting.
  • Ensure documentation is complete and controlled, including bills of materials, drawings, electronic files, specifications, and purchase orders.
  • Ensure customer purchase orders are received, accurate, invoiced, and paid, including tooling, capital equipment, and non-recurring engineering or design services.
  • Manage, close, and ensure timely payment of toolmaker and supplier accounts.
  • Ensure appropriate warranties for products and components.
  • Provide project-status reports to management.
  • Manage and grow existing customer accounts.
  • Maintain account relationships and achieve performance, profit, and customer-satisfaction goals.
  • Monitor program activity to achieve margin targets and conduct price checks.
  • Serve as the primary customer contact for account management.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within customer accounts.
  • Conduct business-continuity planning and continuous customer-specific risk assessment.
  • Develop estimates and quotes for new sales opportunities within accounts.
  • Manage sustaining-program information, including two-dimensional prints, three-dimensional files, and engineering change orders.
  • Manage disposition of obsolete material and slow-moving inventory.
  • Drive continuous improvement by challenging functional departments to identify opportunities.
  • Support customer entertainment and hospitality during on-site visits.
  • Ensure contracts, supply agreements, and confidentiality agreements are current.
  • Coordinate customer quarterly business review schedules and execution.
  • Travel frequently within the United States and occasionally internationally.

Mack Molding provides end-to-end plastics-based product development and manufacturing across medical, commercial, and industrial markets. It combines design, prototyping, engineering services, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, machining, and full assembly in ISO 9001, 13485, and 14001 facilities. Its MackMedical unit supplies fully assembled Class III PMA medical devices, surgical instruments, delivery systems, and orthopedic disposables. The southern division in Inman, SC and Statesville, NC focuses on large-part molding with 40 presses, supporting the goal of helping customers bring products to market efficiently through a single-source, regulated manufacturing solution.
