Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience and a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in DevOps, cloud, infrastructure, or platform engineering, including experience leading teams or technical operations.
  • Strong hands-on experience in hybrid cloud and on-premises environments, leading day-to-day operations while supporting delivery of key initiatives.
  • Experience working in agile delivery models, including coordination with project managers and involvement in planning, prioritization, backlog refinement, and story grooming.
  • Ability to work with architects, peer managers, and technical teams to solve problems, remove blockers, and advance operational and project work.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and reporting skills, including the ability to create technical standards, procedures, and operational documentation and provide updates to directors, vice presidents, and executive leadership.
  • Strong ownership skills, including leading issue resolution, managing risks, driving accountability, and engaging in technical detail when needed.
  • A strong technical background in cloud platforms, infrastructure, automation, and DevOps practices.
  • Experience supporting cloud migration, automation, cost management, and operational governance in enterprise environments.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of the DevOps team, including operational priorities, support, and strategic initiatives.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and accountability across DevOps keep-the-lights-on activities to ensure stability, responsiveness, and consistent service delivery.
  • Mentor team members, promote collaboration, and foster ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a liaison across engineering, architecture, security, infrastructure, and leadership teams to align priorities and execute initiatives.
  • Work with peer managers, directors, architects, project managers, and business stakeholders in an agile environment.
  • Communicate status updates, issue management, and delivery reporting across technical and business stakeholders.
  • Partner with project managers and technical teams on planning, prioritization, and execution within an agile delivery model.
  • Contribute to story grooming, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and coordination to sequence and deliver work on time.
  • Drive execution discipline across project work and operational support activities.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership across infrastructure, cloud, DevOps, and platform initiatives.
  • Own critical issues, risks, and cross-functional dependencies and drive them through resolution.
  • Support complex troubleshooting and lead operational incidents, escalations, and service improvement efforts.
  • Partner with architects and engineering leaders on scalable, resilient, and governed platform and infrastructure solutions.
  • Produce technical documentation, executive summaries, status reports, and recommendations for technical and executive stakeholders.
  • Translate technical and operational information into reports, dashboards, summaries, and recommendations that support decision-making, visibility, and governance.
  • Lead and support cloud migration, modernization, and automation initiatives to improve scalability, efficiency, and operational reliability.
  • Drive adoption of automation and engineering practices that streamline deployment, maintenance, and support.
  • Own and help manage infrastructure and cloud cost optimization, including cost visibility, resource efficiency, forecasting, and financial accountability.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of PCI or similar security and compliance frameworks, including audit procedures and CIS security hardening standards.
  • Prior hands-on coding, scripting, or automation experience.
  • Experience with AI-enabled capabilities that improve operational efficiency and team effectiveness.
  • Working knowledge of security and compliance practices such as PCI and CIS standards.
  • Relevant cloud and DevOps certifications, including Azure, Azure DevOps, Azure Security, TOGAF, PMP, or equivalent credentials in architecture, delivery, and platform operations.
