Requirements
  • A high school diploma, GED, or technical school certification is required.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Mechanical aptitude is required.
  • Knowledge of automotive and/or truck systems, tools, and technical resources is required, along with the ability to independently perform a variety of basic vehicle repairs and maintenance.
  • The proper use of repair and maintenance equipment and tools must be consistently demonstrated, and the work area must be kept clean, safe, and organized.
  • The ability to consistently provide exceptional customer service and improve customer service scores is required.
  • Technician C requires at least six months of relevant automotive repair experience or completion of a formal automotive training program.
  • Technician B requires all Technician C requirements plus at least three years of experience repairing vehicles at a dealership or automotive center.
  • Technician A requires all Technician B requirements plus at least five years of experience repairing vehicles at a dealership or automotive center.
  • Technicians must own tools appropriate for their skill level.
  • Technicians must be able to work in heat and remain on their feet in a concrete facility for the entire shift.
  • Technicians must be able to lift and carry automotive parts and equipment weighing up to approximately 80 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Drive vehicles into service bays, prepare them for service, and complete digital vehicle inspections.
  • Perform general automotive maintenance and repairs.
  • Test-drive vehicles and prepare them for delivery to customers after required repairs and maintenance are complete.
  • Keep the shop clean and organized.
  • Perform automotive repairs, adjustments, and maintenance procedures as outlined on repair orders.
  • Complete fluid exchanges, wheel alignments, brake services, basic repairs, and maintenance services.
  • Work with, mentor, and train less experienced technicians.
  • Perform advanced repair and maintenance services.
  • Complete electrical repairs, diagnostic repairs, and drivability diagnostics.
Desired Qualifications
  • G1-Auto Maintenance & Light Repair is preferred.
  • A state inspection certificate is preferred where applicable.
  • AC 609 Certification is preferred.
  • ASE Certifications A4-Suspension & Steering and A5-Brakes, or their equivalent, are preferred for Technician C.
  • Two additional ASE certifications, or their equivalent, are preferred for Technician B.
  • ASE Certifications A1-A8 with Master Technician designation, or an equivalent combination of technician certifications and ASE certifications, are preferred for Technician A.
  • ASE certification L1-Advanced Engine Performance Specialist is preferred for Technician A.
