RESPONSIBILITIES:
In this role you will be part of the Strategy COE team, which is responsible for partnering with key stakeholders within Kroger and 84.51˚ to assess category health by following a wholistic and collaborative approach that enables the development of customer centric Category Strategies. These analyses provide insight around customer and market trends that result in actionable recommendations aligned to Kroger’s go-to-market strategy, in support of organizational goals and increased customer loyalty.
As a Business Acceleration Consultant within the Strategy COE, you will be part of a team that partners with Kroger Category Managers, Directors, and VPs on prioritized categories/commodities to develop comprehensive assessments that will inform actionable strategies. This team is also responsible for the evolution of Kroger’s Customer Centric Category Management (3CM) ways of working, including the development and implementation of best practices within and beyond our team. Additionally, you will support the identification of roll-up opportunities that provide holistic understanding at the department level (or otherwise determined groupings). This role also necessitates a drive for analytical work, cross-functional collaboration, facilitation of discussions, continuous improvement to build strong stakeholder relationships, create process efficiencies, innovate on capability inclusions, and to drive future deliverable automation.
Key Work Plan Areas include:
- Lead the development of comprehensive assessments and elevation of key insights, across categories and departments for Kroger
- Collaborate with Merchandising Client Leads (MCLs) and other stakeholders to identify areas for continuous improvement in the assessment and strategy development process
- Collaborate in the execution of a cross-functional (DSR, CR, etc.) roadmap for future enhancements/automation opportunities for the category strategy process
- Learn, champion the use of, and contribute to the improvement of 84.51° methodologies, insights, and tools to positively impact business decisions
- Build relationships with key stakeholders and support them in learning and leveraging customer science in the category strategy process (Assortment, Price, Promotion, & Test & Learn initiatives)
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
Successful candidates will thrive in a fast-paced environment that is a little unorthodox at times and will possess the following:
- 2+ years of relevant experience
- Strong Critical Thinking, Analytical and Problem-Solving skills
- Able to communicate complex information in digestible ways
- Able to flex communication and influencing skills based on the audience
- Adept at integrating and making connections across different data sources
- Ability to quickly build rapport, develop trust, and manage stakeholder relationships
- Strong business and technical acumen
- Strong organizational skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree
