New Fujifilm multifunction printer is first to receive "UL GREENGUARD Gold Certification" How the Apeos C7072 Series of MFPs is improving air quality. FUJIFILM Business Innovation Corporation announces that it has obtained "UL GREENGUARD Gold Certification" - an international third-party certification for chemical emissions administered by UL Solutions in the U.S. - for its A3 digital color multifunction printer, the "Apeos C7072 Series." [*1] This is the first time a multifunction printer has received this certification, which is granted to products that meet strict emission standards for chemicals released from the product [*2]. This certification demonstrates, through third-party verification, the company's product performance in improving indoor air quality and serves as a key indicator for customers when selecting products. In recent years, against the backdrop of growing interest in health management and well-being, there has been increasing focus on improving the quality of indoor environments where people spend long periods of time. Since image-forming devices such as laser printers and multifunction devices emit VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds), ozone, UFPs (Ultrafine Particles) [*3], and FPs (Fine Particles) [*4] - all of which can affect indoor air quality - standards regarding emission levels have been established for each product category through means such as environmental labels. The company's multifunction printers have consistently met the emission standards set by various environmental labels [*5], and it has continued to develop products with indoor air quality in mind. In addition to these standards, the "Apeos C7072 Series" has now earned "UL GREENGUARD Gold Certification," which establishes emission standards for over 360 types of VOCs and other chemical substances. This product features "ELFEAT" toner, which delivers industry-leading low-temperature fusing performance, and a fuser unit designed for low-temperature fusing, enabling printing at a temperature 21°C lower [*6] compared to conventional models. By lowering the fusing temperature, the design suppresses the generation of chemical substances and reduces emissions of VOCs and UFPs. In addition, by incorporating technologies that suppress ozone generation and FP dispersion, the product achieved compliance with the applicable criteria for all UL GREENGUARD Gold Certification parameters, including VOCs, ozone, UFPs and FPs. FUJIFILM Business Innovation is addressing "Ensure Product and Chemical Safety," one of the priority environmental issues outlined in the Fujifilm Group's CSR plan, "Sustainable Value Plan 2030," and are working to reduce chemical risks in product design based on the Fujifilm Group's Product Stewardship (Design for Environment) initiatives. Going forward, the company will continue to contribute to the creation of better office environments and sustainable society by providing products and services that take chemical risk reduction into account. *1 Next-Generation A3 Color MFPs That Continue to Evolve Through Cloud and AI *2 World's first as a standalone multifunction machine. *3 Particles with a diameter of 0.1 μm or less *4 Particles with a diameter of 0.1 to 2.5 μm *5 Information on environmental labels for each product is available on its website. *6 Comparison with the Apeos C7071 series. The Fujifilm X-T6 could finally launch next month. The long-awaited Fujifilm X-T6 could finally be on the way, with a new leak pointing to a November launch for the mirrorless camera. The successor to the X-T5 was originally expected in September, but reported component shortages appear to have pushed things back. According to FujiRumors, Fujifilm has now settled on a new launch schedule. The X-T6 is expected to arrive in November, assuming there are no further delays. Fujifilm hasn't officially announced the camera yet, so the timeline remains unconfirmed. The X-T6 is expected to keep the familiar look of the X-T5, but it will make a few changes to how it feels to use. Fujifilm is reportedly redesigning three of the camera's control dials and adding a new D-pad, aimed at making the camera more comfortable to operate. Moreover, there could also be a useful battery upgrade. The X-T6 is tipped to use a new NP-W255 battery with a 2,550mAh capacity, around 16% more capacity than the battery in the X-T5. Autofocus is expected to get one of the bigger upgrades. The X-T6 is rumoured to use Fujifilm's X-Processor 6. This should enable improved AI-assisted autofocus, including more reliable subject recognition and tracking. The camera is also expected to retain a 40-megapixel X-Trans sensor, though it's not yet clear whether Fujifilm will use a newer generation of the sensor. That means the X-T6 could look familiar on paper, but it could make some meaningful changes under the hood. Pricing hasn't leaked yet. For some context, the X-T5 launched in 2022 with a recommended retail price of $1,699. However, the source doesn't indicate whether Fujifilm will keep the X-T6 around the same level. For now, November is the date to watch for the X-T6 official announcement. With its original launch reportedly delayed because of component availability, another change to the schedule can't be ruled out. The latest Fujifilm rumours. 8 hours ago Good news for Fujifilm fans, it now looks like the X-T6 will arrive in November 2026, giving The Magazine For Photographers a new launch window after the camera's original September 4 announcement was postponed. For a while, that delay left open the possibility that Fujifilm might push the X-T6 all the way into 2027, but the latest information suggests The Magazine For Photographers won't have to wait quite that long. The Magazine For Photographers is also getting another look at the X-T6 itself, following the detailed sketches of the front and rear of the camera that already leaked a few days ago. Those drawings showed a few smaller changes to the body and controls, and now another sketch, which you can see up top, has surfaced showing the X-T6 from above. One of the more noticeable changes appears to be around the physical controls, with Fujifilm apparently making the top dials slightly more recessed into the body, which should make them easier to operate with your thumb. And the X-T6 might not arrive alone. Fujifilm is also rumoured to unveil a new Fujinon XF 50-140mm f/2.8 MK II in November, with the second-generation telephoto zoom expected to be considerably smaller than the current lens. In fact, reports suggest it could be compact enough that Fujifilm has removed the tripod collar entirely. Exact dimensions have not leaked yet, although a reduction somewhere around one-third has been suggested based on the size difference Fujifilm achieved with the newer XF 16-55mm f/2.8.
Photographers see AI as a threat. But Japan's biggest camera makers agree on an entirely different trend - and it could shift the future of cameras. Published 5 hours ago In a recent interview, Canon, Sony, Nikon, and Fujifilm all agreed that the experience of shooting with a dedicated camera is becoming increasingly important The growth of AI has been met with trepidation among the creative community - but Japan's biggest camera makers agree that AI-generated content is sparking an entirely different trend: the growth of the dedicated camera and a shift towards prioritizing the experience of photography over technical specifications. Japanese business publication Nikkei Shimbun recently interviewed executives from Canon, Sony, Nikon and Fujifilm. Despite discussing camera trends with four competing brands, there's an overarching trend that Japan's biggest camera makers seem to agree on. Camera makers believe that the rise of AI-generated content, along with trends towards a more retro film-like look, is actually driving more people to pick up a dedicated camera over simply shooting with a smartphone. The camera market saw healthy growth last year, but the biggest growth was in the fixed-lens compact category, which rose nearly 30 percent. But with AI slop driving more people to pick up dedicated cameras, the reason behind choosing a certain camera is also shifting. The experience that a camera offers is becoming increasingly important in the era of AI and smartphones. Camera makers are seeing an increased priority on the physical controls and the style of the camera. Casual photographers shifting from a smartphone are often looking for a camera that's more fun to shoot with - and the design and physical controls are a big part of that. The rise of screen-free cameras is a key example of this trend, along with the continued rise in retro cameras. Generated content is known for being overly perfect and inauthentic, and that's creating a push towards a more traditional camera experience, both in the camera's design and the look and feel of the images. More and more camera makers seem to be pushing the in-camera colors through film simulations, photo styles, and in-camera LUTs. Camera makers have long been engaged in the megapixel race and the push to beat out competitors' specifications. Manufacturers aren't dropping out of this race anytime soon, not for pro models geared towards serious photographers.
