7 Brew coffee opening to benefit Helping Heroes. on September 8, 2026 By Joselyn King For The Intelligencer Wheeling - A new business and financial support for a community organization are about to brew in Woodsdale. 7 Brew, a drive-thru coffee location at 841 National Road, will host a Family and Friends fundraising weekend beginning Friday, Sept. 11, through Sept. 13 to benefit Helping Heroes. Guests can receive a free small drink during designated hours and will have the opportunity to make an optional donation to the organization. Helping Heroes supports homeless and near-homeless veterans as they work toward self-sufficiency and reintegration into the community. Its programs include transitional housing, supportive case management, homelessness prevention and rapid rehousing services for veterans across five counties. Hours for the Family and Friends fundraising weekend are 7 to 10 a.m. Friday; 9 a.m. to noon and 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday; and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. A grand opening is set for Monday, Sept. 14. Free small drinks will be available during community hours from 9 to 10 a.m., noon to 1 p.m. and 5 to 6 p.m. Then, on Saturday, Sept. 19, 7 Brew will have a "Swag Day." Customers will receive a free 7 Brew T-shirt with every large drink purchased, while supplies last. Regular operating hours for 7 Brew are Sunday through Thursday, 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 5:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. On Thursday, aspiring baristas gathered for their first training session at the Woodsdale location. They were learning how to make all the drinks available and getting a chance to taste them. As the new 7 Brew is the first in the area, it was the first chance for many to sample the beverages on the menu. In addition to hot coffee, 7 Brew offers teas, smoothies and shakes, as well as cold coffees and energy drinks. 7 Brew, a drive-thru beverage chain founded in 2017, has appointed Nick Chavez as its first chief marketing officer. The company has over 800 locations across 38 states and is on track to surpass 1,000 units this year, making it the fastest growing brand in the US according to Yelp. In August, 7 Brew launched its first mobile app, which reached the top spot on the iOS App Store. The company promoted the launch through TikTok parody videos, building on its social media presence of over 685,000 followers. Chavez joined 7 Brew in late 2024 after serving as US chief marketing officer at KFC. He previously held marketing roles at Nintendo and Yahoo. The chain faces competition from Dutch Bros, which recently reported an 8.3% increase in same-store sales.
