↓ -4%Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods announced for Chris Jericho Cruise amid AEW speculation. 08/12/2026 The Facebook page for the Chris Jericho Rock 'N' Wrestling Rager at Sea has announced a new lineup of talent for this year's cruise. Among the new additions are former WWE stars Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, now known as Kofi and Austin Creed, respectively, along with other performers. The announcement reads, "THE LINEUP JUST GOT EVEN BIGGER! Welcome Kofi, Austin Creed, Harley Cameron, Lady Frost, and Myla Grace aboard the Rager at Sea! Limited cabins remain, don't miss your chance to be part of the madness. Secure your cabin NOW!" Kofi and Creed left WWE at the beginning of May. In late July, they shared an animated video to commemorate their departures and are widely expected to join AEW. However, this move has not been confirmed yet. Both have remained silent regarding their future plans. The latest edition of the Chris Jericho Cruise, titled "Seventh Cruise of a Seventh Cruise," will take place from November 7th to November 11th. The cruise will travel from Miami, Florida, to Bimini in the Bahamas.
Backstage news on Roman Reigns' potential AAA appearance following Rey Mysterio segment. During this past Monday night's WWE RAW, the show concluded with WWE and AAA Hall of Famer, as well as AAA General Manager, Rey Mysterio meeting with WWE World Heavyweight Champion "The OTC" Roman Reigns in a backstage segment. Mysterio revealed that he had a proposal for Reigns, who eventually walked off with him. According to Dave Meltzer on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE is planning to book Reigns for an upcoming AAA event. However, Meltzer noted that this event will not be TripleMania 34 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on September 11, nor the AAA x NXT Heatwave on August 30. Meltzer also mentioned that many assumed WWE would have Reigns appear on the same card that competes with an AEW event, as Heatwave coincides with AEW All In in London in 2026. However, that's not expected to be the case. AAA has another event scheduled for September 26, opposite AEW All Out 2026 at the NOW Arena in Chicago. Meltzer believes WWE could be planning to book Reigns for this big event, AAA Worlds Collide, which will take place at Chicago's Allstate Arena. Meltzer speculated that while he anticipated CM Punk would work that Premium Live Event (PLE), he did not expect Roman to be on that show as well. He also indicated that WWE plans to create some sort of special presentation for their event, likely a YouTube or Netflix release, though most probably on YouTube. Additionally, Meltzer explained that WWE hopes to attract a larger crowd by holding a show opposite an AEW pay-per-view in the same city, which they likely will do. He noted that WWE's event will be at Allstate Arena, which is larger than where AEW will be at NOW Arena. WWE is currently ahead in ticket sales, even though their event isn't a pay-per-view competing directly against another pay-per-view. Finally, Meltzer stated it would make sense for Reigns to appear at the Chicago event. However, he acknowledged that CM Punk in Chicago will certainly draw fans, and if Reigns were added to that show, it would increase attendance even more. WWE has yet to announce which AAA event Reigns will participate in. Other upcoming major events for AAA include TripleMania 34 Night 2 at Arena CDMX in Mexico City on Sunday, September 13, and a TV taping on Saturday, August 15, at the Coliseo Centenario in Torreon, Coahuila.
TKO explains lower WrestleMania 42 revenue following Q2 earnings. 08/04/2026 As reported by PWMania.com, TKO Group Holdings has released its financial results for the second quarter of the year. The report revealed that WWE's live event revenue fell to $152 million, down from $185.7 million in the second quarter of 2025. This decrease in revenue was primarily due to a reduction in ticket sales, particularly for WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas, compared to the same period last year. Discussion about the lower ticket sales for WrestleMania 42 was prominent leading up to the event. WrestleMania 42 announced an attendance of 50,386 on Saturday and 50,816 on Sunday, compared to 61,467 and 63,226 for WrestleMania 41. During the earnings call, TKO Chief Financial Officer Andrew Schleimer addressed this issue, acknowledging that returning to Las Vegas would likely result in lower revenue. He also mentioned that the company has organized many more international events, which he described as an "investment." Schleimer said, "We staged more events, more international events as well, 22 vs. 2 in the prior year quarter. This is an investment in WWE to broaden and grow the fanbase. This is deliberate, just as going back to Vegas for a second year for WrestleMania was. WrestleMania live event revenue in 2026, despite being lower than 2025, was still one of the largest box office draws in WWE history, and we earned a meaningful financial incentive package to return to the state of Nevada. Those economics were less than the prior year, but still beneficial to the company. We increasingly view our events, not just as live events, but as media events that drive viewership and fan engagement across social and help us monetize our most valuable assets. AEW expected to pursue former WWE star following TNA exit - report. August 4, 2026 A recently departed TNA star is reportedly expected to receive interest from AEW as she weighs the next step in her career. According to Fightful Select, Mara Sade is expected to be pursued by All Elite Wrestling following her departure from TNA Wrestling and that sources within AEW expect the company to make a play for her. Sean Ross Sapp added that sources across both TNA and AEW believe Sade is likely headed to AEW. Fightful Select reported last month that Sade's contract with TNA Wrestling had expired. This makes her a free agent. Sean Ross Sapp reported at the time that sources close to Sade confirmed her deal had ended. The report added that Sade was actively involved in contract negotiations while also discussing her future with multiple wrestling promotions. Before signing with TNA, Sade competed in WWE as Jakara Jackson. She spent several years on the NXT brand as a member of Meta-Four. Here, she also challenged for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship during her time with the company. Following her WWE departure, Sade joined TNA Wrestling, where she established herself as a rising talent in the Knockouts division. WWE executive considered Triple H's number two quietly left company - report. August 4, 2026 A longtime WWE executive has reportedly left the company. According to PWInsider, via Fightful, Patrick Dooley has "quietly" departed WWE. This is after serving as the company's Senior Vice President of Global Strategy and Corporate Development. The report notes that Dooley was widely regarded as WWE Chief Content Officer Paul "Triple H" Levesque's second-in-command. This was on the business side of the company, overseeing matters outside of creative. Dooley joined WWE in 2018 and took on several expanded responsibilities during his tenure. Among his notable contributions was helping facilitate WWE's acquisition of Lucha Libre AAA and playing a role in bringing the promotion to FOX Latin America. Triple H reveals one match he can't wait to watch after WWE SummerSlam 2026. Speaking during WWE's SummerSlam post-show, Triple H said he is looking forward to Kevin Owens facing CM Punk after "The Prizefighter" won a fatal four-way match to become the number one contender for the Undisputed WWE Championship. "Which now puts him in a driver's seat, and after last night makes me immediately think about Kevin Owens and CM Punk, and there is a lot of history there.
