Requirements
  • Completed high school or equivalent.
  • A valid British Columbia driver's license is required.
  • A personal vehicle, vehicle insurance, and a current driver's abstract satisfactory to The Salvation Army are required.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds safely.
  • Ability to work under the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and comply with The Salvation Army's health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability and willingness to undergo applicable screening and background checks, including The Salvation Army Abuse Registry, and provide an original background-check screening copy.
  • Ability to work days, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and split shifts from Monday through Saturday, with scheduling flexibility as operational requirements change.
  • Ability to work efficiently, follow instructions, think independently, and work under pressure.
  • Ability to treat The Salvation Army's property with due care and caution.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver and/or pick up kettles from assigned locations in a timely manner.
  • Deliver kettles to their final daily destination and help empty kettle contents into deposit bags.
  • Create a drop-off and pickup schedule or follow the provided schedule.
  • Greet staff, clients, volunteers, and the public in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Maintain a daily mileage log.
  • Collect donations and petty cash and ensure donations remain secure.
  • Pick up and drop off equipment or supplies as needed.
  • Represent The Salvation Army in accordance with its mission, code of conduct, and professional standards.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior related experience is an asset.
  • Willingness to develop an understanding of and support for The Salvation Army's mission and purpose in Canada.
