About the job

Requirements
  • 10–12 years of experience in project or program management within technology services, IT infrastructure deployment, or data center operations, with a proven track record of delivering complex, customer-facing deployment projects.
  • Ability to operate as a credible on-site lead and advisor to technical teams, vendors, contractors, customer executives, and internal leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent deployment workstreams, balancing scope, schedule, cost, and quality, including daily task tracking, issue troubleshooting, and transparent reporting to program leadership.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently to customer data center sites across EMEA, mainly the Nordics and Iceland, including extended on-site rotational periods as project demands require.
  • Ability to apply formal problem-solving and issue-resolution methodologies to maintain project momentum, particularly during real-time troubleshooting and escalation scenarios in large-scale deployments.
  • Fluency in English and one Nordic language: Norwegian, Swedish, or Danish.
Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end deployment projects on-site in customer data center environments, including large-scale GPU and network rack installations, delivering on time, on budget, and in alignment with contracted outcomes.
  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders and maintain hands-on visibility into daily workflows, shift activities, and site readiness.
  • Act as the primary on-site customer contact for deployment status, risk escalation, and issue resolution across logistics, installation, and construction readiness.
  • Identify out-of-scope requests and facilitate formal change requests, ensuring customer approval and stakeholder accountability as scope, assumptions, or requirements evolve.
  • Align commercial, sales, and delivery teams on ownership, approvals, and remediation of scope gaps or omissions.
  • Use predictive risk insights to identify schedule slippage, resource gaps, vendor delays, and site-readiness blockers, and intervene proactively to protect delivery timelines and customer confidence.
  • Provide daily and shift-level reporting to program leadership and identify lifecycle value and expansion opportunities where additional Dell Technologies solutions can advance customer business objectives.
  • Use emerging technologies and AI-driven tools to improve delivery methodologies, reporting accuracy, and stakeholder coordination across complex, multi-workstream data center deployments.
Desired Qualifications
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project and related scheduling platforms, including developing, maintaining, and adjusting complex, multi-workstream deployment plans throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Enthusiasm for AI, automation, and emerging technologies, particularly experience with AI data center networking technologies and high-performance fabrics such as InfiniBand, NVIDIA NVLink, and 400G/800G Ethernet. Detailed design and implementation expertise is not required; understanding these technologies supports installation sequencing, cross-functional coordination, risk identification, and escalation management.
  • Technical acumen for engaging effectively with architects, engineers, vendors, and deployment teams. Technical design or implementation work is not expected; technical fluency supports credibility, informed decision-making, challenging assumptions, asking relevant questions, and driving discussions toward resolution.
  • Ability to accurately read and understand construction documents and plans.
  • Familiarity with OSHA standards, or willingness to obtain OSHA 30 certification.
  • Experience operating in multi-employer, multi-vendor construction or data center environments where safety responsibilities are shared across multiple parties.

About the company

Dell Technologies makes laptops, desktops, servers, data storage and networking equipment for businesses, governments, schools and consumers, and it builds many of the server racks inside large AI data centers. In 2016 it completed its $67 billion purchase of storage maker EMC, then the largest technology deal ever. One division sells PCs, monitors and Alienware gaming computers, while the other sells PowerEdge servers, storage arrays and networking gear to companies running their own data centers. Dell earns money from those hardware sales plus support, financing and subscription services. Michael Dell founded the company in 1984 from his University of Texas dorm room, and it is based in Round Rock, Texas.

What believers are saying

  • AI demand is surging: Dell booked $60.9 billion in AI server orders in the quarter ending July 2026.
  • A $95 billion order backlog gives teams years of work: Dell raised its fiscal 2027 sales forecast to $192 billion.
  • Dell pays for staff to keep learning: its benefits profile lists tuition assistance and apprenticeship programs.

What critics are saying

  • Jobs keep shrinking: Dell's March 2026 annual report showed headcount down 10% to about 97,000, a third straight yearly cut.
  • A few giant buyers drive AI sales: SpaceX and CoreWeave ranked among Dell's largest customers in August 2026.
  • PCs earn thin profits: Dell's PC division kept just 7.6 cents of operating profit per sales dollar last quarter.

What makes Dell Technologies unique

  • Dell sells both halves of computing: data center gear brought in $31.8 billion last quarter, PCs another $15.0 billion.
  • The founder still controls it: Michael Dell, chairman and CEO, holds super-voting shares with over half the director votes.
  • Dell sells straight to buyers at scale: its own sales force, not resellers, brings in about half of revenue.
