Assist in reading water utility meters and performing minor maintenance.
Disconnect and reconnect water accounts.
Operate a vehicle along an assigned route to read and record water usage data using an AMI cellular system or manually.
Locate malfunctioning meters, troubleshoot them, and make minor repairs.
Replace and repair meter lids and boxes.
Change out endpoints, antennas, and meters.
Install water meters for existing accounts where meters have previously been pulled.
Turn off and lock meters for nonpayment and reconnect them once payment is made.
Connect water service for new customers.
Re-read and quality-check meters as assigned.
Recheck and visit customers and contractors regarding meter issues and high bills.
Collect meter data using a cell phone or tablet.
Maintain the assigned vehicle and equipment.
Issue door tags and messages from Customer Service to customers.
Perform other related duties.
