Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
- At least 3 years of quality engineering experience is required.
- Experience in manufacturing quality, logistics processes, or related technical roles is required.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems is required.
- Proficiency in problem-solving tools such as 8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa, and A3 is required.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications is required.
- Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills are required.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the identification, segregation, documentation, and disposition of nonconforming product within the distribution center.
- Ensure no nonconforming product is shipped without formal approval.
- Track trends in damages, mislabels, and packaging issues.
- Lead investigations into shipping errors, missing or incorrect items, packaging failures, and transportation damage.
- Apply structured problem-solving methods, including 8D, 5 Why, and Ishikawa.
- Define and follow up on corrective actions with Operations, Logistics, and carriers.
- Communicate complaint status and risks to internal stakeholders.
- Maintain distribution-center-specific procedures, work instructions, and records.
- Coordinate internal audit schedules and support external audits.
- Ensure document control and compliance with ISO requirements.
- Plan and execute internal audits for receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping.
- Document audit findings and ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
- Validate adherence to Standard Work and packaging standards.
- Implement Lean tools, including 5S, standardization, Poka-Yoke, and Kaizen, in warehouse processes.
- Analyze data to reduce shipping errors, transportation damage, rework and repacking, and Cost of Poor Quality.
- Support cross-functional improvement projects.
- Lead root-cause analysis for internal defects and customer complaints.
- Validate the effectiveness of corrective actions through data and audits.
- Identify risks in packaging, labeling, handling, and storage processes.
- Train warehouse personnel on defect detection, packaging standards, escalation processes, and handling nonconforming product.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in HVAC, automotive, or high-volume manufacturing environments is preferred.
- Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and SPC is preferred.
- Experience with supplier defect notifications is preferred.
- A Lean or Six Sigma certification is preferred, with Green Belt preferred.
