Requirements
  • At least 7 years of professional backend experience, including experience at a senior or staff level in a product-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in Python with strong experience in Django and/or FastAPI.
  • Strong experience with concurrent and asynchronous Python, including asyncio and Celery or similar task queues, and the ability to design, implement, and debug these systems in production.
  • Experience with offline-first or unreliable-network synchronization, including optimistic updates, queue-and-replay, and conflict resolution.
  • Daily use of AI coding assistants, with critical review of their output for correctness, security, and latency.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL, including schema design and query optimization.
  • Experience with at least one message broker or streaming platform, such as Kafka or RabbitMQ, and understanding of ordering, idempotency, and retries.
  • Ability to select appropriate data structures and algorithms for correctness or performance without over-engineering.
  • Solid understanding of system design and microservices.
  • Experience writing automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using tools such as pytest, tox, and Playwright.
  • Experience working in an Agile and/or Scrum environment.
  • Comfort with CI/CD pipelines and trunk-based development.
  • Experience building and maintaining REST APIs, working with WebSockets, and handling networking.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
  • Hands-on observability experience covering monitoring, logging, and alerting, with understanding of SLAs and on-call readiness.
  • Ability to respond to production incidents calmly and debug systematically.
  • Experience leading projects, mentoring engineers, setting technical standards, and contributing to team success.
  • Ability to present technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders in business terms and document decisions.
  • Advanced English skills and confidence in verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to own outcomes end-to-end, communicate proactively, and raise risks early.
Responsibilities
  • Own multiple backend services end-to-end, including architecture, REST APIs, and databases.
  • Design, build, and debug asynchronous and concurrent systems, including task queues, background workers, and event-driven flows, with attention to retries, ordering, idempotency, and race conditions.
  • Use AI coding assistants to accelerate design, implementation, testing, and documentation while reviewing output critically and helping establish team norms.
  • Own third-party API integrations, including implementation, cost control, rate-limiting, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers on architecture, patterns, and production readiness.
  • Contribute to backend technical standards and best practices.
  • Own observability tooling, including dashboards, alerting, and SLA tracking for services.
  • Participate in the backend on-call rotation as the first responder for production incidents.
  • Lead the quality assurance partnership on test strategy.
  • Own post-launch support and triage customer escalations.
  • Translate product requirements into technical specifications and own technical scope.
  • Communicate architectural trade-offs involving performance, cost, and latency to stakeholders.
  • Collect Support feedback and iterate on API usability and documentation.
  • Collaborate with Design and Frontend on API contracts and payloads.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least 10 years of professional backend experience.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, NoSQL databases, and cloud-native patterns.
  • Exposure to Java, Spring, or similar object-oriented languages.
  • Experience with large language model APIs, retrieval-augmented generation systems, or other artificial intelligence integrations.
  • Experience with advanced infrastructure or external API cost optimization.

Super Dispatch launches SuperCard with $0.45/gallon fuel savings and credit building for auto transport carriers

Super Dispatch, an automotive transportation management platform, has launched SuperCard, a fuel and expense management card for auto transport carriers. The card offers fuel savings averaging $0.45 per gallon and up to $2.00 per gallon at participating locations, with acceptance at virtually all truck stops nationwide and anywhere Mastercard is accepted. SuperCard consolidates expenses across fuel, maintenance and transportation costs, featuring built-in IFTA reporting and up to 30% off maintenance costs. The card helps carriers access or build business credit whilst providing fraud protection. Fleet owners can set per-driver spending limits, manage cards from a dashboard and access full transaction visibility. The solution integrates directly into Super Dispatch's existing carrier platform and is available to all Super Dispatch carriers.
