- At least 10 years of experience in manufacturing automation, controls, industrial engineering, or smart factory implementation.
- Hands-on capability with programmable logic controllers, supervisory control and data acquisition, historians, and industrial networking.
- Practical experience retrofitting equipment that was not designed to be connected.
- Experience delivering automation integration projects, including safety, validation, and commissioning.
- Ability to build and defend a business case and verify that the expected benefit was realized.
- Comfort working on the floor in an active production environment.
- Deploy Internet of Things sensors and establish machine connectivity on legacy equipment, including retrofit approaches for assets without native connectivity.
- Implement predictive and condition-based maintenance and its supporting data pipeline.
- Integrate robotics and automation onto existing production lines, including collaborative robots, pick-and-place systems, palletizing, and vision inspection.
- Capture overall equipment effectiveness data that accurately reflects production performance.
- Implement or integrate manufacturing execution systems and shop-floor data systems with the enterprise resource planning layer.
- Deliver operational technology and information technology convergence, including the required network and security architecture.
- Develop business cases and validate benefits after implementation.
- Train operators and maintenance personnel on installed systems and equipment.
