Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with AIAG Core Tools, including Control Plans, PFMEA, PPAP, APQP, MSA, and SPC.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and automotive industry standards.
  • Strong GD&T blueprint reading skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in quality management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently, under pressure, and meet demanding deadlines.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and oversight to others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and environments.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
  • Lead quality-related APQP activities, including control plans, inspection methods, AIAG and customer-specific requirements, Supplier APQP, and PPAP development and submission.
  • Support the divisional APQP process and requirements.
  • Manage customer and supplier relationships and the product value stream from product launch through serial production.
  • Serve as the liaison for customer quality responsibilities, complaints, concerns, customer visits, and audits.
  • Support purchasing in supplier development and lead supplier improvement efforts.
  • Lead and execute project-based initiatives to improve quality performance and reduce scrap or defects.
  • Maintain and update quality documentation, including procedures, PFMEAs, and control plans, to reflect current processes and best practices.
  • Champion quality improvement initiatives and drive cross-functional engagement using effective problem-solving tools and disciplines.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Suppliers, and Management on root-cause analysis for internal and external nonconformances and on corrective and preventive actions.
  • Verify corrective and read-across actions for effectiveness.
  • Train and mentor junior quality engineers and technicians.
  • Perform internal and supplier audits to ensure compliance and drive improvement activities.
  • Support and participate in quality, supplier, and customer audits, IATF 16949 requirements, and corrective-action follow-up.
  • Evaluate assembly operations and collaborate with production employees to strengthen relationships, gather insights, and identify process-improvement opportunities.
  • Provide clear, concise reporting on quality performance, customer and supplier concerns, and project status.
  • Comply with ITW policies, safety standards, and housekeeping practices.
  • Serve as the plant's primary point of contact for consolidating and disseminating lessons learned and best practices across worldwide manufacturing sites.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Quality Engineer certification is preferred.
  • ASQ certifications are strongly preferred.
  • IMDS experience is preferred.

ITW raises dividend 7% and authorises $6B share buyback programme

Illinois Tool Works Inc. has announced a 7% increase in its annual dividend, raising it from $6.44 to $6.88 per share. The fourth-quarter dividend of $1.72 will be payable on 9 October 2026 to shareholders of record on 30 September 2026. The company's board has also authorised a new $6 billion share repurchase programme. Management will determine the timing and volume of buybacks at its discretion. Christopher O'Herlihy, president and chief executive officer, said the moves reflect the strength of ITW's business model and confidence in long-term growth and free cash flow generation. This marks the company's 63rd consecutive annual dividend increase. ITW is a Fortune 300 manufacturing company with $16 billion in revenue in 2025.
