About the role

Join Mainstay as a Field Flex Agent (1099 Independent Contractor Agent) and take control of your earning potential while providing essential real estate field services. As a contractor, you will complete specific field tasks on behalf of Mainstay customers, earning compensation based on the work performed. This is an ideal opportunity for licensed real estate professionals looking for flexible field work, additional income, or a way to stay active in the industry without full-time commitments.

Requirements

Active real estate license.
Experience in real estate transactions (traditional sales, iBuying, or transaction coordination preferred)
Ability to complete assigned field tasks on time and with attention to detail
Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple listings, and diligent documentation.
Strong technical skills: Salesforce or a similar CRM, G-Suite, Slack, MacOS, and the ability to work in multiple systems simultaneously
Reliable transportation (for property-related tasks such as Home Check-Ins and Lockbox Installs)
Access to a smartphone and computer for task completion, documentation, and communication

Compensation

As a Field Flex Agent, you will be compensated per completed task. Tasks include Property walk-thrus, weekly property checks, home visits, vendor meetings & contract to close tasks.

Additional Earning Opportunities

Personal Transactions – Agents assisting their own buyers and sellers will retain 90% of the paid commission, with 10% allocated to Mainstay for licensing and administrative costs.

Former Zillow exec sells AI startup Truelist, joins Mainstay as chief strategy officer

Former Zillow executive Carey Armstrong has sold her AI-powered startup Truelist to Mainstay, a residential real estate technology and brokerage platform, just over a year after launching. Armstrong will join Mainstay as chief strategy officer. Mainstay announced the acquisition as part of its expansion beyond institutional residential investors into the broader brokerage and agent market. The company also raised more than $18 million in growth capital from new and existing investors. The deal emerged from conversations between the companies after they met at the Blueprint conference roughly a year ago. Both had been developing similar listing and transaction infrastructure for different segments of the housing market. Armstrong is part of a network of former Zillow executives known as the "Zillow mafia", many of whom remain active in real estate proptech. The combined company now has about 100 employees.
