  • At least 4 years' advisory experience in policy-centric communications with a focus on technology clients, ideally in consultancy, government, or a technology company.
  • Strong knowledge of the media and public policy landscape across the European Union and the United Kingdom.
  • A demonstrable ability to take a strategic approach to communications challenges and opportunities, understanding of how communications can support and advance policy objectives.
  • Experience communicating complex topics to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience building advisory relationships with different stakeholders to deliver strategic counsel and insight.
  • Project management experience - planning and delivering work against agreed goals, timelines and budgets.
  • Experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini) effectively, safely and critically in a professional setting.
  • Experience managing a team and delegating work to the appropriate level.
  • Intellectual curiosity to develop subject matter expertise in new topics and share that knowledge with colleagues.
  • Collaborative instincts and a genuine commitment to contributing to an inclusive culture.
Responsibilities
  • Shape policy communications strategy by working with client team leads to set strategy and define priorities, translating technical and policy concepts into compelling narratives for different audiences and designing integrated communications plans to guide execution, with rigorous research and evidence-based advice, and proposing creative approaches when needed.
  • Advise with strategic judgement by providing recommendations directly to clients in writing and meetings, producing briefing materials, speeches, and content for significant communications moments, staying informed on government consultations, industry news, and client challenges, and using research and AI tools to support complex deliverables.
  • Use AI to drive better outcomes by regularly using AI tools to improve quality and efficiency, leveraging tools like Claude, Gemini, and an internal AI studio to conduct research, generate insights, and produce analysis at scale and speed, and contributing to sharing knowledge about AI across the team while ensuring outputs meet quality standards.
  • Drive and deliver client work by managing junior colleagues, creating clear project plans, delegating effectively, and ensuring work is delivered on time and to a high standard.
  • Contribute to business development by understanding how clients generate revenue and ensuring our advice supports their business objectives, helping improve team efficiency, identifying new ways to help clients, and using expertise to unlock opportunities.
  • Build a collaborative environment by giving and receiving feedback regularly, seeking input from colleagues at all levels, and demonstrating allyship to everyone on the team, creating an inclusive environment where brilliant work happens.
