Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent technical studies in electronics, broadcast communications, or a related field; alternatively, a minimum of five years of directly related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of six years of expert-level experience troubleshooting, installing, repairing, and maintaining complex broadcast electronic equipment or comparable relevant experience.
  • A thorough understanding of broadcast air-chain components, complex system interactions, and IP-based signal distribution.
  • Intermediate networking skills, including TCP/IP, routing, and switching, with the ability to diagnose common network issues.
  • Advanced understanding of modern microwave and Low Earth Orbit satellite technologies and their integration.
  • Deep understanding of radio frequency emissions, interference mitigation, and regulatory compliance, including the ability to serve as an escalation point for complex RF challenges.
  • Expertise in soldering and desoldering electronic components, including precision work.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of applicable broadcast-related Federal Communications Commission rules and regulations.
  • Ability to perform complex calculations for common broadcast-related formulae.
  • Advanced proficiency with standard broadcast test equipment, including VOMs, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other common software.
  • Ability to systematically and logically address multiple highly complex technical problems, often requiring innovative solutions.
  • Ability to apply sophisticated common-sense understanding to carry out complex instructions and think strategically from abstract problems to practical solutions.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to listen, provide constructive feedback, and influence positively.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the social sector and passion for the organization's mission and values.
Responsibilities
  • Partner across the engineering team to ensure programming is broadcast successfully and to the highest quality through installation, maintenance, operation, updates, and intricate repairs.
  • Lead the operation, testing, and maintenance of advanced broadcast equipment, including audio processors, transmission systems, Emergency Alert System equipment, receivers, monitors, and electrical systems, while optimizing signal and sound according to ministry guidelines.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance system performance, reliability, and efficiency, focusing on IP-based, modern microwave, and Low Earth Orbit satellite solutions.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical faults on equipment and systems down to the component level using advanced analytical methods.
  • Partner and communicate with engineers, including contract engineers, to accomplish critical objectives.
  • Mentor and serve as an escalation point for junior broadcast engineers, supporting their technical knowledge and professional development.
  • Complete and submit administrative documentation, including timecards, expense reports, vehicle logs, budgeting documents, and other relevant records, by established deadlines.
  • Use and maintain asset management, work order, and ticketing system software to log activities, track inventory, and update status.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to emails, texts, and phone calls regarding operational status, project updates, and other work-related matters.
  • Maintain organized digital and physical records for compliance and operational continuity.
  • Maintain an expert-level understanding of Federal Communications Commission rules and regulations to ensure equipment and operations remain compliant and uphold safety standards.
  • Champion the Injury Prevention and Safety program and adhere strictly to safety standards and lockout-tagout procedures.
  • Serve as Chief Operator/Engineer for assigned broadcast stations and fulfill all regulatory responsibilities.
  • Conduct comprehensive on-site visits to each assigned transmitter site at least once per quarter.
  • Provide immediate expert response for unplanned outages, emergency repairs, and critical events requiring on-site presence.
  • Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on non-broadcast equipment, including generators, HVAC systems, and minor electrical and plumbing systems, to ensure complete site functionality.
  • Travel to remote sites for complex installations or critical repairs and to the K-LOVE campus for specialized training or project leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • SBE certification is highly desirable.

K-LOVE appoints Evan Masyr as new Chief Financial Officer. K-LOVE, Inc., the parent organization of leading Christian radio networks K-LOVE and Air1, announces the appointment of Evan Masyr as the Ministry's Chief Financial Officer. Masyr will lead the accounting, finance and tax departments while serving on the Ministry Leadership Team. He spent the last 26 1/2 years at Salem Media Group and held the position of CFO for 19 years. Prior to that, he worked for the global accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers for nearly seven years. "It is a tremendous blessing and a calling to join K-LOVE and serve a ministry that shares the hope of Jesus Christ with listeners across the country and around the world," says Evan Masyr. K-LOVE, Inc., the parent organization of leading Christian radio networks K-LOVE and Air1, announces the hiring of experienced venue executive Brian Sipe as the new Vice President of Live Events. Most recently, Sipe served as the General Manager of the Oak View Group managed Central Bank Center in Lexington, Kentucky. He has also worked in booking at Rupp Arena and has been the General Manager at venues throughout Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Sipe comes with an array of award accolades including his venues getting three Academy of Country Music(R) Venue of the Year nominations.
