Requirements
  • Previous experience in building maintenance is required.
  • Basic mechanical ability is required, including knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, and general maintenance.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team is required.
  • Comfort working within structured systems, standards, and procedures is required.
  • An Alberta Class 5 Driver's Licence and clear abstract are required.
  • The role requires significant walking and standing, frequent lifting and carrying up to 10 kilograms (22 pounds), and occasional lifting up to 23 kilograms (50 pounds).
  • The role requires bending, kneeling, crouching, stretching, reaching, twisting, and use of stools and ladders.
  • The role involves exposure to chemicals and controlled substances and work in both indoor and outdoor environments, including enclosed spaces.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular checks of public areas, including hallways, the lobby, restaurants, and washrooms.
  • Inspect lighting, exit signage, doors, walls, ceilings, and flooring for condition and operability.
  • Perform repairs such as light bulb replacement, painting, door adjustments, and minor surface repairs.
  • Interact professionally and courteously with guests while working in public and guest-facing areas.
  • Complete guest room maintenance tasks, including checking plumbing and drain operability, adjusting and repairing furniture, performing paint touch-ups, replacing grout and sealant, repairing minor drywall damage, painting walls, clearing drains, tightening loose fixtures or appliances, and ensuring rooms meet established quality standards.
  • Support seasonal grounds maintenance, including snow removal with shovels, snow blowers, and plow trucks; grass cutting; weed removal; planting; watering; trimming; and maintaining plants and floral displays.
  • Maintain exterior spaces year-round to meet luxury and safety standards.
  • Monitor swimming pools and other bodies of water, including daily testing and chemical balancing.
  • Support pool, sauna, and related equipment maintenance.
  • Assist with basic heating and cooling checks and troubleshooting.
  • Report irregularities or concerns to Engineering leadership promptly.
  • Move and relocate furniture, appliances, and equipment as required.
  • Install pictures, fixtures, and furnishings.
  • Remove garbage, recycling, and construction debris safely.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of the maintenance shop and workspaces.
  • Follow all health, safety, and personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Work within established procedures, standards, and regulations.
  • Handle chemicals and controlled substances safely and responsibly.
  • Support a safety-first culture through attention to detail and adherence to protocols.
Desired Qualifications
  • Plumbing or electrical training.
  • Previous hotel, resort, or facilities maintenance experience.
  • Pool Operator certification.
  • Familiarity with working in both indoor and outdoor environments year-round.
