Amo unbundles social features into a suite of focused apps that share a single profile, friends, and settings. Its current apps include ID for collaborative profile expression, Bump for map-based friend and place sharing, and Sugar for unlimited-canvas chat, all free with revenue from in-app purchases. The company uses a monorepo built on Bazel and operates under GDPR as a Paris-based business. Its goal is to enable more authentic, human-centric online interactions by letting people choose only the tools they want while maintaining a cohesive social footprint.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Amo’s $18 million seed from Coatue, DST, and Newwave funds rapid product iteration.
  • Amo launched Bump and Sugar after ID, showing product expansion beyond one app.
  • Recent recruiting and a 2026 active website signal continued building and team growth.

What critics are saying

  • Amo still lacks clear monetization, leaving growth dependent on constant user engagement.
  • Snap killed Zenly in 2022, proving social-map consumer apps face platform fragility.
  • If ID, Bump, and Sugar fail to reach scale, amo becomes a cash-burning niche app studio.

What makes amo unique

  • Antoine Martin and Michael Goldenstein bring Zenly’s product DNA to amo’s social apps.
  • Amo unbundles friendship into ID, Bump, and Sugar with shared profiles.
  • The Paris team builds playful, design-forward consumer products, echoing Zenly’s differentiated UX.
