About the Job

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in ML/AI systems, including at least 4 years focused on large language models and generative AI.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership, including owning ambiguous, high-impact problems end to end and influencing decisions across teams and customers.
  • Expert knowledge of the large language model ecosystem, including model architectures, fine-tuning approaches, and inference internals.
  • Hands-on command of inference optimization, including quantization, key-value cache management, batching, and routing.
  • Experience running large language models in production at scale, including deploying, operating, and debugging inference workloads down to the framework level.
  • Experience with large language model fine-tuning, including supervised fine-tuning, LoRA, and data preparation and curation; experience with reinforcement-learning-based fine-tuning.
  • Experience building task-specific large language model evaluation benchmarks and offline and online evaluation pipelines, including large-language-model-as-a-judge setups.
  • Experience with inference frameworks and libraries including vLLM, SGLang, and TensorRT-LLM, including the ability to read, modify, and contribute to their internals.
  • Experience deploying large-language-model-powered applications using APIs from OpenAI, Anthropic, or open-source models.
  • Strong Python programming skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to audiences ranging from engineers to executives.

Responsibilities

  • Own complex, high-stakes customer engagements from architecture through production across multiple modalities, driving measurable business value.
  • Optimize large language model inference at the framework and hardware level and codify best practices into reusable team playbooks.
  • Lead supervised and reinforcement fine-tuning efforts to maximize model quality.
  • Design and implement production-ready large language model solutions using Token Factory inference services.
  • Provide deep technical expertise in prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation architectures, model selection, and cost/performance trade-offs at scale.
  • Partner with product, engineering, and research teams to surface customer needs, prototype platform features, and influence the roadmap.
  • Guide customers from proof of concept to production with a focus on performance, reliability, and cost efficiency, and define team standards for doing so.
  • Mentor Senior and mid-level Solutions Architects and raise the team's technical bar through review, enablement, and knowledge sharing.
  • Represent Token Factory externally through talks, blog posts, and conferences.

Desired Qualifications

  • Contributions to or maintainership of major open-source inference or machine-learning projects such as vLLM, SGLang, or TensorRT-LLM.
  • Published research, conference talks, or widely read technical writing in the large language model or serving space.
  • Deep experience with multimodal AI models, including vision-language or speech models.
  • Proficiency with DevOps tooling such as Docker and Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Experience building or owning internal tooling or automation for machine-learning workflows at scale.
  • Experience with Transformers and OpenAI or Anthropic SDKs.
  • Experience with Git.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and services including AWS SageMaker, AWS Bedrock, Google Cloud Vertex AI, or Azure Machine Learning.

About the Company

Nebius

Runs GPU clouds for AI training and deployment

Nebius runs an AI cloud for developers, researchers, and enterprises that train models and put them into production. Its AI Cloud combines GPU computing, storage, networking, and managed services, while Token Factory runs models through an API so teams do not manage the underlying servers. Customers rent computing and storage at usage rates or reserve capacity, choosing resources that fit short experiments or sustained production workloads. Beyond the cloud, the group owns Avride, which develops autonomous vehicles and delivery robots, and TripleTen, which teaches technical skills for people changing careers. The publicly listed group is headquartered in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
