Requirements
  • Consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five years.
  • Ability to use a computer to communicate via email.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and related tools and technology.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field of study.
  • Substantial experience in nuclear conduct of operations.
  • Substantial experience in construction safety and oversight.
  • Fundamental understanding of nuclear, mechanical, electrical, chemical, and physical science concepts and their application to facility operations, environmental cleanup, facility decommissioning and demolition, waste management, and associated safety management programs.
  • Experience in safety inspections, evaluations and assessments, incident investigation, management review and appraisal techniques, and quality assurance.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand regulations associated with the Department of Energy, Environmental Protection Agency, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, state and local authorities, and related industry standards from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and American National Standards Institute.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Completion of Mask Fit training, respiratory training, HAZWOPER refresher training or 40-hour HAZWOPER training if required, Radiological Worker II training, Beryllium Worker training, and the HPMC physical.
  • Ability to produce thorough, accurate, appropriately documented work products that comply with established criteria.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare for reviews and evaluations.
  • Review documents and technical documents.
  • Conduct activity observations and safety interviews.
  • Document completed evaluations.
  • Communicate evaluations to the Department of Energy.
  • Evaluate contractor corrective actions and corrective-action closure.
  • Gather and reduce data.
  • Support the Facility Representative Program, including exam preparation, training preparation, metrics compilation, and procedure review or updates.
  • Support review and assessment teams.
  • Interface with Department of Energy Richland Operations Office subject-matter experts.
  • Perform administrative functions and actions supporting the Operations Oversight Division.
  • Provide written reports and shared-database entries, as well as verbal briefings to the Operations Oversight Division Director, team leads, and Facility Representatives.
  • Prepare draft reviews, evaluations, and assessments of Department of Energy Richland Operations Office and Hanford Site contractors.

  • Advanced proficiency with Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, data analytics tools, and Visio.
