Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in an applicable field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One year of college coaching and recruiting experience and/or experience at a highly competitive high school or club system.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Valid certification in STUNT and current USA Cheer membership, or the ability to obtain both within 30 days of employment.
  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Ability to travel independently for competitions, recruiting activities, camps, conferences, and team events by driving or commercial transportation.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required by practice, game, competition, and recruiting schedules.
  • Ability to demonstrate and instruct collegiate cheer and stunt skills, including stunting, tumbling, jumps, and conditioning activities.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, spot athletes, and actively participate in practices, games, competitions, and events for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, carry, load, and move equipment, mats, signage, uniforms, and practice materials up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, wind, humidity, and elevated noise levels during athletic events and practices.
  • Ability to safely spot and assist student-athletes during practices and performances.
  • Ability to obtain export-control authorization prior to starting employment.
  • Ability to pass a criminal history investigation and satisfy institutional verification of credentials and other required information.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with planning and conducting practices, workouts, conditioning sessions, and skill development training for STUNT and Cheer student-athletes.
  • Provide instruction in game-day cheer, stunting, tumbling, pyramids, jumps, and performance routines.
  • Support the physical, mental, and personal development of student-athletes.
  • Assist with choreography, routine preparation, and competition/game-day execution.
  • Promote sportsmanship, leadership, accountability, and teamwork within the programs.
  • Monitor student-athlete progress and provide mentorship and support.
  • Assist in identifying and recruiting prospective student-athletes who align with program and university standards.
  • Communicate with recruits, coaches, parents, and campus partners throughout the recruiting process.
  • Coordinate recruiting visits, tryouts, clinics, and camps.
  • Support retention initiatives that promote student-athlete success and engagement.
  • Assist with day-to-day operations of the STUNT and Cheer programs.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements, itineraries, meals, lodging, and transportation for team travel.
  • Maintain inventory and organization of uniforms, equipment, and practice materials.
  • Assist with budget tracking, purchasing, and program documentation.
  • Support scheduling for practices, competitions, appearances, and events.
  • Assist with compliance paperwork and required athletic department documentation.
  • Assist with preparation and execution of game-day performances and STUNT competitions.
  • Coordinate team appearances for athletic events, university functions, community outreach, and promotional events.
  • Ensure student-athletes are prepared and present for assigned events and appearances.
  • Assist with crowd engagement and promotion of school spirit during athletic events.
  • Ensure compliance with university, conference, NCAA governing body, and athletic department policies and procedures.
  • Promote academic achievement and monitor student-athlete academic progress.
  • Work collaboratively with academic support staff, athletic trainers, strength staff, and university departments.
  • Maintain certifications and safety standards required for collegiate cheer and stunt programs.
  • Represent the university and athletic department in a professional manner.
  • Assist with community outreach initiatives, alumni engagement, youth clinics, and fundraising efforts.
  • Build positive relationships with campus departments, student alumni, and supporters.
  • Encourage leadership development and positive team culture within both programs.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Three years of college coaching and recruiting experience and/or experience at a highly competitive high school or club system.
  • NCAA recruiting certification, CPR, First Aid, and AED certification.
