Bank of America reiterated its buy rating and $305 price target on Datadog following a 19% stock selloff triggered by third-quarter guidance. The observability platform beat second-quarter estimates but warned its largest customer, widely believed to be OpenAI, would reduce usage despite signing a nine-figure renewal covering 17 products. BofA analysts Koji Ikeda and George McGreehan argued the market overreacted to a single account's slowdown. Growth outside Datadog's largest customer has accelerated for four straight quarters, reaching the high-20% range. Customers paying at least $100,000 annually grew 23% year over year from a base of roughly 4,720 accounts. The price target implies 33% upside and rests on a 20.6x multiple of expected 2027 revenue, reflecting Datadog's projected 19% revenue growth against an 11% peer average.
Vercel welcomes Amit Agarwal, Standard Template Labs CEO and former Datadog President, to the board of directors. * August 7, 2026 Vercel announced a major leadership addition to strengthen its corporate governance. The agentic infrastructure platform has appointed industry veteran Amit Agarwal to its board of directors. Agarwal is currently the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Standard Template Labs. He also brings 25 years of valuable experience in enterprise software to this new role. Agarwal previously spent 13 years scaling operations at Datadog. He initially joined Datadog as Chief Product Officer back in 2012. Later, he stepped up as President in 2022 to guide global expansion. During his long tenure, he helped steer Datadog through its successful 2019 IPO. He ultimately expanded revenue at Datadog past $2.5 billion annually. Currently, he maintains a seat on the board at Datadog. "Amit scaled a developer product into an enterprise standard without losing the customer obsession that made it work," said Guillermo Rauch, founder and CEO of Vercel. "There are few operators in the world with his depth of product insight. We're fortunate to have his dual perspective as a board member and as a founder building on our platform." Consequently, this strategic board appointment arrives during a period of rapid financial momentum. Vercel expanded from frontend hosting into full-stack infrastructure for AI developers. Thanks to strong enterprise adoption, the company crossed $500 million in run-rate revenue recently. "Vercel has done something incumbents rarely do. Rather than being displaced by the AI wave, it evolved into the agentic infrastructure that many AI-native builders reach for first," said Agarwal. "I look forward to supporting the team as they take a platform developers already love and build it into a generational company." Meanwhile, Agarwal joins several prominent technology leaders on the Vercel board. These distinguished directors include Mitchell Hashimoto, Susan St. Ledger, and Steffan Tomlinson. Together, they support Vercel in delivering high-speed cloud infrastructure for modern developers worldwide. Accelerating enterprise cloud innovation. Vercel is also continuing to encourage creativity across its agentic workflow tooling. The engineering team is regularly releasing critical updates for autonomous software development. Therefore, companies are moving complex workloads to Vercel to improve developer velocity and deployment security. Finally, industry analysts view this board expansion as a big milestone for enterprise cloud adoption. Vercel is mobilizing the best executive talent to build the most advanced AI infrastructure to entrench its market dominance. This puts the platform in a unique position to power the next generation of cloud engineering. Bank of America named Datadog its top software pick ahead of the cloud monitoring company's second-quarter earnings report on 6 August. The bank maintained its Buy rating despite the stock trading near its 52-week high of $278.76. BofA's confidence stems from analysis showing Datadog's revenue growth tracking Amazon Web Services performance, suggesting Wall Street's current estimates may be too conservative. The bank highlighted healthy demand signals, steadier large customer renewals, and stronger positioning in AI system monitoring as supporting factors. Analysts expect earnings of $0.58 per share on revenue of roughly $1.08 billion. Datadog shares closed at $267.97 on 31 July, up 108% over six months. The stock has beaten earnings expectations in each of the past four quarters.
