About the company

Palantir AI saves McCarthy 30,000 hours a year as US commercial sales jump 149%

McCarthy Building Companies says an AI workflow built with Palantir Technologies and Nvidia technology saves about 30,000 work hours a year. The construction company trained Nvidia's Nemotron models on more than 100,000 requests for information, and uses Palantir's tools to flag scheduling or cost risks before requests reach a project site. Other customers report gains too. Tampa General Hospital says a tuned model ran 22 times faster with 7% better performance. Defence contractor L3Harris says early internal tests beat frontier models at lower cost. These results are company-reported and unaudited. Investors are watching closely. Palantir's second-quarter revenue rose 93% to $1.94 billion, and US commercial revenue grew 149% to $764 million. It reports third-quarter results on November 2.

Palantir stock split unlikely soon at $200 a share, as sales jump 93% to $1.935B

Palantir Technologies is unlikely to announce a stock split soon, according to Motley Fool writer Keith Noonan. The stock trades at roughly $200 per share, a level he says is not yet high enough to prompt one. Palantir has not split its shares in its roughly six-year history as a public company. Noonan says a split becomes much more likely if the price nears $500 and holds firm. The stock has risen roughly 714% over five years, against 70.5% for the S&P 500. Second-quarter sales grew 93% year over year to $1.935 billion, with a non-GAAP adjusted operating margin of 62%.

Palantir must show revenue growth above 83% in Q3 earnings on November 2 to justify its valuation

Palantir reports third-quarter earnings on Monday, November 2, and investors will expect another beat. The stock trades at 120 times forward earnings, so slowing growth could trigger a sell-off. In the second quarter, revenue rose 93% year over year to $1.94 billion, well above the roughly $1.8 billion the company had guided. US commercial revenue grew 149% and US government revenue 90%. Management expects third-quarter revenue of $2.16 billion, an 83% growth rate and a slowdown from Q2. A beat of about $150 million, similar to Q2's, would lift growth to 96%. With its profit margin already at 55%, Palantir must grow revenue to lift earnings.
