Job Description
We are seeking a CFP board-certified or board-eligible subspecialist to join our department. Our department currently has one CFP fellowship trained board-certified physician and several generalists who provide D&E care. We also collaborate with CFP board-certified physicians across the Jefferson Health Enterprise system, which encompasses the greater Philadelphia region, Lehigh Valley, northeastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey.
On our campus in Center City Philadelphia, we are working to expand our Early Pregnancy and Complex Contraception Clinic (EPCC), Title X clinic, and ambulatory abortion services. Furthermore, CFP faculty work and train residents at the Philadelphia Women’s Clinic, a free-standing independent abortion clinic with which we have a longstanding collaborative relationship. Candidates will also be providing care at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital (TJUH). As a tertiary care academic hospital, TJUH is a common referral site for complex cases and provides D&E services up to 24 weeks.
The ideal candidate will be committed to clinical excellence, medical education (we have a robust Ryan Program), research/quality improvement, and advocacy.
Job Description
This is a CFP-focused academic position with the expectation for some inpatient generalist responsibilities which may include labor & delivery and/or general gynecology inpatient call. . Ambulatory responsibilities are primarily CFP-focused and include coverage of EPCC (for outpatient abortion, pregnancy loss, and advanced contraception care), Title X clinic coverage, and early pregnancy confirmation services. Ambulatory care may also include general OB/GYN ambulatory clinics. Clinical care will be primarily provided at Thomas Jefferson University – Center City Campus and its affiliated outpatient clinic, Methodist Hospital, and Philadelphia Women’s Center. Additional practice sites may be identified over time.
Teaching responsibilities include clinical training and supervision of medical students and residents.

Qualifications:
- Applicants must have an MD or DO degree and must be board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- Applicants must be board certified or board eligible in Complex Family Planning subspecialty certification by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and have completed a Complex Family Planning fellowship.
- The candidate must be eligible to obtain a Pennsylvania and New Jersey medical license. Salary and faculty appointment rank will be commensurate with experience and achievements.
