Responsibilities
  • Coach the team to follow operational excellence and proven-practice standards throughout sales stages, activities, and tools of record, including pipeline updates and time tracking.
  • Lead the team in coordinating with Microsoft, customer, and partner teams to deliver against objectives and increase satisfaction; oversee management of business and technical risks; ensure compliance with industry and Microsoft guidelines; and align priorities with business goals.
  • Help the team identify and mitigate blockers, accelerate solution deployment and value realization, and apply business, technical, industry, and enterprise knowledge to architecture and support projects.
  • Guide the team in delivering solutions using company methodologies and value-based deliverables, advice, training, and technical validation; prepare complex customers for operational readiness; support long-term adoption and well-architected, secure, resilient, AI-enabled, cost- and performance-optimized solutions; articulate the value of Unified; support sellers and consumption planning; and provide feedback on deliverables.
  • Identify cross-solution opportunities for consumption, usage, and Unified expansion; develop the team's understanding of customer businesses; advise on solutions; consult with and challenge customers and partners; track industry trends and customer insights; map architectures and digital transformation solutions to outcomes; and capture opportunities in appropriate systems and processes.
  • Improve customer and partner experience, understand customer goals and conditions for success, lead confidence calls to address dissatisfaction and unmet needs, and execute strategies to improve customer experience, value realization, and transformation.
  • Translate customer and partner problems into industry solutions aligned with Microsoft product and platform strategy; explain how solutions meet customer outcomes and return-on-investment goals; accelerate adoption; build relationships with technical and business decision makers; and connect security, compliance, operational, and risk requirements across C-suite stakeholders.
  • Represent the customer and partner voice to Engineering, Product Offerings, and internal communities; aggregate customer patterns and insights; and present business cases to influence product roadmaps, decisions, bug prioritization, and initiatives.
  • Prioritize strategic partner opportunities and direct partner and sales support, including proof-of-concept work and technical pre-sales support.
  • Orchestrate partner initiatives, select qualified partners for complex customer needs, collaborate with Global Partner Solutions stakeholders and Partner Technology Specialist leadership, and align partner and sales ecosystems to customer opportunities.
  • Model company culture and values, define team objectives and outcomes, enable success across boundaries, help the team adapt and learn, attract and retain employees, understand their capabilities and aspirations, and invest in their growth.
  • Identify delivery gaps and patterns and communicate them to stakeholders to drive improvements to products, intellectual property, technologies, processes, and practices; contribute to Microsoft's frameworks and methodologies; and provide thought leadership and innovation.
  • Lead and mentor virtual teams around technologies and customer challenges; share strategic and technical input; present to external and internal audiences; contribute to intellectual property and scalable models; participate in community events; and share learnings across teams.
  • Use market insights and demand signals to identify upskilling and accreditation needs; model technical readiness; mentor and educate colleagues; lead readiness and upskilling activities; and monitor and guide team members' continuous learning.

  • 5+ years of people management experience, including managing consultant practice managers, technical sales managers, and/or technical architect managers.

Microsoft tops Accenture as AI infrastructure scales faster than consulting services

Accenture reported revenue of nearly $74.2 billion for fiscal year 2026, up 6.5% year-over-year, with net income of roughly $8.5 billion. The professional services firm serves approximately 9,000 clients globally with 814,000 employees. Microsoft generated revenue of nearly $331.8 billion in FY 2026, a 17.8% increase, with net income of approximately $133.7 billion. The company's net margin reached close to 40.3%. Both companies maintained a debt-to-equity ratio of approximately 0.3x. Microsoft's free cash flow reached nearly $67.0 billion, whilst Accenture's was roughly $11.6 billion. Accenture recently addressed a $25 million settlement with the Department of Justice regarding federal contracting practices. Microsoft faces securities fraud class action lawsuits involving AI and Copilot claims, alongside antitrust scrutiny and an IRS tax audit.

Excel Canvas uses Copilot to auto-generate reports from spreadsheet data

Microsoft is rolling out Excel Canvas through October, a feature that transforms spreadsheet data into polished reports with visualisations, metrics, and insights. The reports automatically refresh when underlying data changes. Users need access to Copilot in Excel and can customise reports using natural language prompts. The feature enters a crowded market of dashboard tools. The rollout follows mixed reception for recent Excel updates. Last week, Microsoft added a feature allowing multiple values in single cells. Earlier this year, a Copilot Dynamic Action Button faced user backlash, forcing Microsoft to make it removable. The company also abandoned the COPILOT() function in August, barely 12 months after its introduction.

LinkedIn ex-CEO Ryan Roslansky to leave Microsoft in 2026 amid executive departures

Ryan Roslansky, Microsoft's executive vice president and former LinkedIn CEO, will leave the company at the end of 2026. Roslansky, who joined LinkedIn in 2009 and became CEO in 2020, cited family ties to the San Francisco Bay Area as his reason for departing. He will remain as an adviser to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella through December. His exit follows a string of executive departures at Microsoft, including gaming chief Phil Spencer and Office executive Rajesh Jha. Roslansky moved into Microsoft 365 oversight earlier this year after Dan Shapero became LinkedIn's CEO. During Roslansky's six-year tenure leading LinkedIn, membership grew from 700 million to 1.3 billion users. LinkedIn posted 11% revenue growth for Microsoft's most recent fiscal year.

The Ottawa-based company converts organic social media conversations into statistically valid market research in as little as two minutes. Through askpolly's API, users can merge social data with sales information directly within Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power BI, or Copilot. The platform filters out bots, influencers, and paid content before creating representative samples matched to census demographics, with underlying data refreshing every 24 hours. Anyone with a current Copilot subscription can download askpolly through Microsoft Marketplace. Elizabeth Warren demands answers as Amazon, Google, Meta and Microsoft claim $96B in AI tax breaks

Senator Elizabeth Warren is demanding answers from Amazon, Google, Meta, and Microsoft over $96 billion in lost federal revenue from AI-related tax breaks. Despite reporting massive revenues in Q2 2026, the tech giants saw significant tax reductions last year. Amazon paid $7.8 billion less in tax, Meta nearly $7 billion less, whilst Microsoft and Alphabet each qualified for roughly $19 billion in tax cuts. The companies are benefiting from provisions in Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill Act, including 100% bonus depreciation for AI data centres and expanded R&D tax credits. Corporate tax revenues have dropped 23% this year, largely due to these AI tax breaks. Warren and fellow lawmakers have sent letters to the companies' CEOs questioning the tax breaks and their lobbying efforts, arguing the costs have been imposed on American families through cuts to Social Security and other programmes.
