Requirements
  • The candidate must be at least 18 years of age and provide state-required proof of age documents.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent GED is required.
  • The candidate must safely lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • The candidate must use business computer systems and applications, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, and project management software.
  • The candidate must troubleshoot machinery problems without supervision or direction.
  • The candidate must document predictive and preventive maintenance charts and technical data, interpret data, and provide relevant input for process improvement.
  • The candidate must communicate effectively with others using spoken and written English.
  • The candidate must bend, stoop, reach overhead, climb ladders and stairs, and work at heights using scissor or bucket lifts.
  • The candidate must have the ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others.
  • The candidate must be able to receive and apply cross-functional training and assist other functions as needed.
  • The candidate must comply with company policies and procedures, including attendance, scheduling, confidentiality, safety, and conflicts of interest.
  • The candidate must have at least 5 years of experience in maintenance, facilities, or a related field.
  • The candidate must be able to troubleshoot, maintain, and operate advanced technical equipment in a related industry.
  • The candidate must have at least 3 years of experience with electromechanical control systems.
  • The candidate must have knowledge of and experience with computerized maintenance management systems.
  • The candidate must be able to travel to other sites as needed.
  • The candidate must wear required personal protective equipment when working with hazardous drugs.
  • The candidate must obtain medical approval to wear required respiratory protection.
  • The candidate must be willing to acknowledge the potential risks of handling hazardous drugs.
  • The candidate must meet the stated physical exertion requirements, including standing, walking, squatting, bending, and lifting during shifts of up to twelve hours.
Responsibilities
  • The Maintenance Controls Technician supports the Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance Department by applying predictive and preventive maintenance procedures to critical production equipment.
  • The technician assists with or independently performs corrective, preventive, and planned maintenance on production-related equipment.
  • The technician troubleshoots and improves complex motion control systems.
  • The technician troubleshoots and improves complex electromechanical systems.
  • The technician keeps primary work areas organized, neat, and clean during and after maintenance activities.
  • The technician adheres to 5S principles and immediately addresses safety hazards and spills.
  • The technician uses safe lifting techniques and operates powered equipment safely.
  • The technician complies with hazardous energy policies and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • The technician provides commissioning support for machine and system installations and startups.
  • The technician performs data entry, including work-order tracking and filing, and keeps tools and documents such as Safety Data Sheets current.
  • The technician maintains records in MaintainX to track time, parts, and repairs.
  • The technician identifies facilities issues and develops strategies to chart trends and take remedial action using a predictive maintenance approach.
  • The technician communicates issues to management that could create safety risks or cause losses to the company or its associates.
  • The technician works as directed throughout the facility to maintain safety and health standards.
  • The technician performs equipment calibration and testing to ensure accurate operation and compliance with quality standards.
  • The technician responds to equipment breakdowns, emergencies, and production interruptions to minimize downtime.
  • The technician coordinates repairs with production personnel to minimize disruption to production and fulfillment processes.
  • The technician identifies opportunities for process optimization, efficiency improvements, and cost savings related to equipment maintenance and operation.
  • The technician participates in cross-functional teams implementing improvement projects and supports continuous improvement.
  • The technician stays current with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in general equipment maintenance.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bilingual Spanish language ability is preferred.
  • Formal training or certification through an accredited institution in electrical, mechanical, motion control, or programmable logic controller systems is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of previous maintenance experience in a production facility or with the stated equipment is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of electrical knowledge and electronic principles is preferred.
  • Formal training and work experience with robotic systems is preferred.
  • Advanced degree or training in engineering, maintenance, or another related field is preferred.
  • Advanced formal training in lean or Six Sigma is preferred.
  • Experience with pharmacy fulfillment equipment is preferred.
