About the job
- A bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a directly related field is required.
- At least 6 months of experience working with adults who have mental illness, particularly individuals diagnosed with serious and persistent mental illness.
- Clinical skills are required.
- Familiarity with the current DSM-5 and diagnostic techniques is required.
- A valid Colorado driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
- Regular, predictable attendance is required.
- The role requires the ability to stand and sit; talk and hear; use hands and fingers to operate a computer and keyboard; meet close-vision requirements for computer work; and perform light to moderate lifting.
- Monitor clients' activities of daily living and provide skills training as needed.
- Document interventions and program activity, and maintain accurate and timely clinical records.
- Administer medication as directed by Colorado regulations, facility policies and procedures, and physician orders.
- Coordinate care with consumers, families, center staff, and external facilities to ensure continuity of care.
- Attend and participate in supervision, team meetings, and in-service education and training opportunities.
- Provide therapeutic crisis intervention and emergency services as required.
- Monitor the collection of urine drug screens and breathalyzers.
- Cook, assist with house laundry, and clean the facility.
- Transport consumers to appointments as needed.
- Complete admission check-ins to units, provide regular safety checks on units, and monitor clients regularly.
- Maintain the confidentiality of consumer records.
- Bilingual Spanish is preferred but not required.
