About the company

Limelight Steel develops electric ironmaking technology that uses lasers to electrify steel production, replacing fossil fuels in the process. It works by applying laser-enabled electric methods to ironmaking, enabling steel manufacturers to reduce or eliminate the use of biomass and fossil fuels. The company differentiates itself with a scalable laser-based approach that can be adopted by existing steel producers without the need for new furnace designs. Its goal is to substantially lower global CO2 emissions from steelmaking and achieve broad adoption of its technology in the industry.
