Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 years of clinic experience is required.
  • The veterinarian must be able to diagnose and treat infectious, inflammatory, metabolic, degenerative, physiologic, and environmental disease.
  • The veterinarian must be able to triage and stabilize urgent or emergent cases before referral.
  • The veterinarian must demonstrate clear and compassionate communication with team members and clients.
  • The veterinarian must demonstrate medical, surgical, and dental competence.
  • The veterinarian must manage scheduled appointments, walk-ins, urgent cases, and other tasks effectively.
  • The veterinarian must remain productive during slower periods and be able to self-start and motivate support staff.
  • The veterinarian must demonstrate problem-solving abilities to adapt, troubleshoot, and brainstorm solutions when processes are not working well, including contacting the next level for support.
  • The veterinarian must be able to receive and act on feedback.
  • The veterinarian must work collaboratively with team members and help with non-doctor tasks when needed.
  • The veterinarian must work collaboratively with other veterinarians to align medically and seek help with challenging cases.
Responsibilities
  • Use DVM status to its highest level in medicine, surgery, dentistry, and clinic leadership.
  • Manage appointments and procedures for assigned patients, interpret laboratory results, prescribe medication, conduct follow-ups, and complete charting and tasks promptly.
  • Complete follow-ups for clinic patients when the primary veterinarian is unavailable.
  • Build positive connections between clients and Juno through proactive care-plan formulation, small-conflict resolution, thoroughness, and efficiency.
  • Participate actively in team meetings to improve overall medical quality.
  • Coach and support inexperienced doctors and support team members.
  • Develop positive relationships with the team.
  • Communicate wants and needs clearly and efficiently with support and leadership teams.
  • Align with and promote Juno initiatives.
  • Understand basic business needs, metrics, and benchmarks.
  • Expand service offerings through continuing education and training.
  • Rotate among Toronto practices on an as-needed basis and work weekend shifts as part of the scheduling rotation.
Desired Qualifications
  • Surgical competence in feline and canine spay and neuter, including mature and large-breed patients, cryptorchid neuter, umbilical hernia repair, mass removals, cystotomy, laceration repair, eyelid surgery, enucleation, and gastropexy is a plus.
  • Dental competence in charting, reading radiographs, gingival flaps, burring and sectioning, extractions, and closing extraction sites is a plus.
  • Comfort with point-of-care ultrasound and abdominal ultrasound is a plus.
