Requirements
  • Possess an earned baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution in technology, engineering, engineering technology, or a field directly related to the program's discipline, plus any specialized certifications required for the class and two years of directly related work experience linked to the Curriculum of Record competencies.
  • Possess an earned baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution, plus any specialized certifications required for the class and five years of directly related work experience linked to the Curriculum of Record competencies.
  • Possess an earned associate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution directly related to the program's discipline, plus any specialized certifications required for the class and three years of directly related work experience linked to the Curriculum of Record competencies.
  • Selected candidates are subject to pre-employment background checks, including a criminal history check.
  • Provide official transcripts and certifications upon hiring.
  • Teach assigned classes in person on campus.
Responsibilities
  • Create a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals.
  • Provide effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi.
  • Demonstrate thorough and accurate knowledge of the field or discipline, interpret and evaluate theories, connect subject matter with related fields, and stay current through professional development.
  • Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning, employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, modify methods to meet diverse student needs, and use instructional technology when appropriate.
  • Encourage communication and higher-order thinking skills through appropriate assignments, communicate subject matter to students, contribute to instructional-material selection and development, and support classroom efforts promoting student success.
  • Establish and adhere to learning objectives, develop fair evaluation methods, evaluate and return student work, maintain accurate student-progress records, and submit final grade, grade-book, and attendance rosters by established deadlines.
  • Meet scheduled classes according to college policy and prepare, distribute, and submit approved syllabi and course outlines for assigned sections.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information and exercise stewardship of college facilities and materials.
  • Respond to information requests from college, division, and program administrators; contribute to curriculum development; and attend program, division, and college meetings and events when feasible.
  • Maintain familiarity with college goals, mission, and long-range plans and contribute to planning and development processes where appropriate.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with and ability to teach topics including Safety, Electrical, Mechanical, Fluid Power, Programmable Logic Controllers, Robotics, Vision Systems, Human-Machine Interfaces, and Variable Frequency Drives.
