Test Engineer
About the job
- A Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science or a related field, plus two years of directly related experience demonstrating the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the job duties, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance on start or a Department of Defense Top Secret clearance with reciprocity, and be able to obtain a Sensitive Compartmented Information clearance.
- Must be a United States citizen.
- Experience designing, developing, and executing software testing.
- Experience programming in Python.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements.
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement automated test tools, and design, implement, and conduct test and evaluation procedures to ensure system requirements are met.
- Develop, maintain, and upgrade automated test scripts and architectures for application products.
- Write, implement, and report status for system test cases.
- Analyze test cases and provide regular progress reports.
- Serve as a subject matter specialist, providing testing expertise to support user requirements for complex to highly complex software and hardware applications.
- Direct and/or participate in all phases of risk management assessments and software and hardware development, emphasizing analysis of user requirements, test design, and test-tool selection.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Bash and UNIX command languages.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies.
- Knowledge of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Knowledge of containerization; Docker is preferred.
- Experience with large-scale systems of more than one million lines of code.
- Experience working with large, established codebases.
- Experience with Agile software development practices.
