Requirements
  • An undergraduate degree with an emphasis in Communication Disorders and Sciences.
  • Current state-issued professional licensure.
  • A valid state driver's license.
  • CPR certification.
  • Zero to two years of experience.
  • Ability to read and write simple correspondence and speak effectively in small groups.
  • Critical-thinking ability.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to interpret instructions and solve practical problems involving a variety of concrete variables.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, recordkeeping, and routine database activity.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to perform therapy-related physical activity, including standing, walking, reaching, sitting, kneeling, and crawling; frequent use of hands and fingers; handling, feeling, talking, and hearing; and lifting at least 25 pounds.
  • Ability to meet the role's close-vision requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Organize and conduct medically prescribed speech therapy for pediatric patients in a home health setting under the direction of a supervisor.
  • Direct patients and caregivers in selected tasks to reinforce and enhance performance.
  • Provide clinical treatment, including direct treatment and family or caregiver education regarding patient status, goals, and progress.
  • Coordinate patient care with office staff and other disciplines.
  • Communicate with pediatric patients and families about progress, problems, home programs, and other matters related to the therapeutic process.
  • Refer patients and family members to appropriate professionals, agencies, services, and resources.
  • Consult with the supervisor about patient progress and maintain appropriate records.
  • Participate in supervised visits as outlined by the State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Maintain supplies and equipment.
  • Participate in the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program.
  • Attend continuing education activities.
  • Maintain an adequate caseload and appropriate productivity.
  • Participate in team efforts to achieve company and departmental goals and share knowledge and skills with colleagues.
  • Participate in professional organizations and activities.
  • Serve as a backup service provider for other caseloads as needed.
  • Comply with company policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Pediatric clinical experience is preferred.
  • Home health experience is preferred.
