Requirements
  • 3-5 years of diesel experience or a combination of education, training, and experience
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record
  • Good mechanical aptitude and ability to diagnose basic mechanical problems
  • Thorough understanding of equipment repair and maintenance methods, materials, tools, and techniques
  • Basic understanding of pump station electrical controls and monitoring devices
  • General DC electric and circuit testing skills
  • General diesel engine component location and identification
  • CDL Class B considered a plus
  • Safety practices and procedures
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively
Responsibilities
  • Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and servicing on equipment
  • Troubleshoot diesel engine, electrical systems, and pump problems
  • Rebuild diesel engines and pump ends
  • Assist in setting up pumping systems on customer job sites
  • Perform start-up duties and resolve any problems
  • Inspect equipment for damages, diagnose, and report damages
  • Test repaired equipment for proper operation
  • Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles and shop support equipment
  • Conduct diagnostic checks using computer technology
  • Participate in on-call rotation schedule to assist customers after hours
  • Participate in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities
