EHS and Training Specialist
About the job
- A bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least five years of experience in safety and/or environmental management roles.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Experience conducting audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
- Proficiency with safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety and environmental policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and areas of noncompliance.
- Investigate accidents, near-misses, and environmental incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Manage permits, reporting requirements, and regulatory filings related to environmental compliance, including air, water, waste, and hazardous materials.
- Design and deliver safety training programs for employees, contractors, and new hires, as well as for operations activities, to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies such as OSHA, FMCSA, DOT, and NFPA.
- Work with the Training Manager to conduct training needs assessments and identify skills or knowledge gaps to address.
- Participate in Safety and Quality Committees, track and ensure completion of related projects, and research and create guidelines and best practices.
- Track progress and results, ensure completion of EHS training programs, and create monthly and quarterly reports and other data for leadership on regional and area performance, including audits, safety reports, and training compliance.
