Kids' personal care expansion targets a growing retail opportunity.

Kids' personal care expansion targets a growing retail opportunity. Contributed by Ty Griffin Baby-products company Frida is expanding into personal care products for children ages 6 to 11, introducing body wash, deodorant, electric flossers and other items priced from $6.99 to $19.99. The Frida for Kids collection will be available through Walmart and Amazon as the company follows its original customers into a new stage of childhood. The launch coincides with Walmart's development of a dedicated kids' care aisle designed to bridge the gap between baby and adult products. Frida sees an opportunity to address a fragmented market while building loyalty among Generation Alpha consumers, with the global kids' personal care category projected to grow as retailers devote more attention and shelf space to younger shoppers. Market Reaction * Walmart Inc. (NASDAQ: WMT): $112.50, down $0.16 (0.14%) * Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN): $273.25, down $4.84 (1.74%) * Procter & Gamble Co. (NYSE: PG): $144.52, down $1.92 (1.31%) * Colgate-Palmolive Co. (NYSE: CL): $92.24, down $0.91 (0.98%) * Unilever PLC (NYSE: UL): $62.32, down $0.53 (0.84%) Investor Sentiment Frida's expansion highlights the potential for established retailers and consumer-products companies to capture spending from parents seeking age-appropriate personal care products. Dedicated merchandising, accessible pricing and products designed specifically for younger children could help transform a fragmented category into a more meaningful source of growth. Investors will monitor whether demand from Generation Alpha encourages larger personal care companies to introduce additional child-focused products or acquire emerging brands. While all five related stocks declined during the session, the longer-term opportunity will depend on whether companies can build early brand loyalty without relying on short-lived beauty and wellness trends. Walmart buys 38 acres along growing West Valley distribution corridor.

Walmart buys 38 acres along growing West Valley distribution corridor. By: Hailey Mensik, Phoenix Business Journal Posted 8:36 AM, Aug 07, 2026 BUCKEYE, AZ - Walmart scooped up a roughly 38-acre site in Buckeye for $11,818,700 in a deal that closed July 30, according to real estate database Vizzda, as industrial-focused real estate deals continue their momentum across the Valley. The site is located at the northeast corner of State Route 85 and Southern Avenue - a part of the city where several new industrial projects geared toward warehousing and distribution users are planned or underway. The seller, Scottsdale-based Cardinal Capital Co. LLC, worked to rezone the property as a planned area development for a future light industrial park called AZ85, according to planning documents submitted to the city of Buckeye. The total AZ85 project size is 144 acres and includes other parcels adjacent to the one Walmart just acquired. Conceptual site plans show several different options for building configurations and sizes across the industrial park site, which will target manufacturing, e-commerce and warehousing users, according to planning documents. Walmart faces lawsuit over alleged collection of customers' voice prints.

Walmart faces lawsuit over alleged collection of customers' voice prints. August 7, 2026, 9:06 am CDT Walmart is the subject of a class action suit by customers who claim the company illegally collected their biometric information. (Image from Shutterstock) Walmart is being accused by a group of customers of illegally collecting their biometric information. In a class action complaint filed in the Northern District of Illinois on Tuesday, the plaintiffs allege that whenever customers call into a Walmart customer service line, the retail giant uses artificial intelligence to create a voice print that can be used to identify them in the future. They also allege that this is done without their consent. "Plaintiffs and other consumers who call into the Walmart customer service line are told only that '[t]his call and your voice may be recorded for business purposes, including fraud prevention,'" according to the complaint. "However, the recording fails to disclose what the other 'business purposes' for taking their voice prints are, or with whom those biometric identifiers are being shared." The plaintiffs note that Walmart's privacy policy acknowledges that it collects biometric information when a customer contacts the company in accordance with applicable law. But they also contend that Walmart is violating the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, which was implemented to regulate the collection and use of biometrics. Specifically, the plaintiffs allege Walmart has not properly informed customers in writing of the specific purpose of collecting and storing their biometric data; obtained a written release from customers to collect their voice prints; or obtained customers' consent to share this information with third parties. The plaintiffs seek statutory damages of $1,000 to $5,000 for each of Walmart's alleged violations of the law. Walmart did not respond to a request for comment from Courthouse News Service, which has additional coverage.

Sporting JAX partners with Walmart to host "Shop with a Player" Back-to-School Event.

Sporting JAX partners with Walmart to host "Shop with a Player" Back-to-School Event. Students from the Sporting JAX Foundation soccer clinics pair up with members of the Sporting JAX men's and women's teams for back-to-school shopping. Sporting Club Jacksonville partnered with Walmart today to host the first Sporting JAX Foundation Shop with a Player Back-to-School Event. Members of the Sporting JAX men's and women's professional soccer teams joined children from the Sporting JAX Foundation soccer clinics as they shopped for back-to-school supplies in preparation for the new school year. Each student was supplied with a $50 Walmart gift card provided by the Sporting JAX Foundation to use for any back-to-school supplies needed to help start the school year strong. Sporting JAX players, including names such as Georgia Brown, Meg Hughes, Luc Granitur and Tyshawn Rose, then accompanied a group of two to three students each through the store to shop. "We want to partner with the community, our players, our staff and most importantly the kids of Jacksonville," said Pat Waters, Sporting JAX President and Chief Revenue Officer. "It shows that it's important. You have professional soccer players from our men's and women's teams out here mentoring the kids, going around, looking for school supplies; it takes a little bit of that anxiety away and makes it fun for the kids, which is awesome." The attending students ranged from ages 4-16, and attend schools within multiple counties in the greater Jacksonville area. The funds provided by the Sporting JAX Foundation helped the students purchase items such as binders, pencils and new clothes. "I thought it was something very nice to do with the community because school can be expensive and being able to get that little help is always awesome," said Beatriz, a local mother whose daughters participated in Thursday's event. "When my girls found out, they were so excited. Especially [my daughter], she has done certain things with the [Sporting JAX Foundation] program; she was excited that she was going to meet the soccer players and everything." Sporting JAX's players enjoyed participating in the event, with it even reminding some of the excitement they experienced during Back-to-School season as children. They also acknowledged how the club's involvement with events like these can help uplift those in the community that they now call home. "The girls were really great; we had lots of fun shopping... they were so excited to go back to school, which is really nice to see," said Sporting JAX defender Georgia Brown. "I know it can be such a burden for some parents as well, so I think it's just a really good thing that Sporting JAX are doing to help alleviate some of that pressure from the parents." Sporting JAX kicks off their second season in the Gainbridge Super League on August 15 against Fort Lauderdale United FC. To learn more about the Sporting JAX Foundation and its mission, visit https://www.sportingjax.com/foundation/, and to purchase season tickets for Sporting JAX's women's season, you can visit https://www.sportingjax.com/season-tickets/, or call (904) 863-KICK to speak with a representative. About Sporting Club Jacksonville (Sporting JAX) Sporting Club Jacksonville, or "Sporting JAX," was established in 2020 by a passionate group of Jacksonville-based owners and is driven by a bold vision to elevate the area's soccer scene and "Lift Every Voice," the club's motto. Named in collaboration with the First Coast community in 2023, the club fields a women's professional team in the Gainbridge Super League, which reached the playoffs in its inaugural season, and a men's professional team in the USL Championship.
