Requirements
  • Current National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators credentials for the appropriate type of crane and a current Crane Operator physical are required.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Crane Operator is required.
  • The candidate must have a valid driver's license and pass a motor vehicle records check.
  • The candidate must have all required tools and reliable transportation.
  • Experience and knowledge operating various small and large hydraulic cranes, including Manitowoc 2250, Manitowoc 16000, Manitowoc 4100, Link-Belt 218, Kobelco 2500, and rough-terrain cranes ranging from 15T to 140T are required.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and the ability to inspect equipment are required.
  • The candidate must demonstrate load planning and lift planning abilities.
  • Current NCCCO LBC and NCCCO TLL certifications are required.
  • Knowledge of proper hand signals is required.
  • The candidate must be willing to assist with other duties while not operating a crane.
  • The candidate must be able to follow instructions correctly.
  • The candidate must reliably perform administrative processes such as equipment inspection paperwork.
  • The candidate must follow all instructed safety regulations.
  • The candidate must be able to work the designated schedule and overtime as needed with proper notification.
  • The candidate must meet the physical requirements, including standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting, lifting, climbing, working at heights, and moving up to 50 pounds.
  • The candidate must be able to work in all weather conditions while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • The candidate must wear required personal protective equipment, including a hard hat, safety glasses or spoggles, ear plugs, masks or respirators, a high-visibility safety vest, leather gloves, and leather steel-toed work boots.
  • The candidate must provide or use a raincoat and rain boots.
Responsibilities
  • Operate various construction cranes to move equipment and other materials.
  • Plan operational lifts.
  • Inspect equipment.
  • Ensure all safety aspects of operating the equipment.
  • Follow signal directions from a signaler during equipment operations when required.
  • Assess the operating area for safety issues and required processes, and plan equipment operations accordingly.
Desired Qualifications
  • Current Zachry or Zachry ROF’ed employee status is preferred.
  • Former experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc. is preferred.
  • Experience with all listed cranes is preferred.
  • Formal or technical education is preferred.

Zachry Group awarded Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract for NiSource's Combined Cycle Generation Project. SAN ANTONIO-(BUSINESS WIRE)-Zachry Group (Zachry) has been awarded the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract for NiSource Inc.'s Combined Cycle Generation Project, a major infrastructure project located near Wheatfield, Indiana. The facility will support NiSource's delivery of electricity to a third-party customer and includes two nominal 1,300-megawatt gas-fired combined cycle units in a 2 x 2 x 1 configuration. A subsidiary of NiSource Inc. will own and operate the facility. The EPC contract will be executed by a joint venture between Zachry Group and Quanta Services, Inc. (Quanta). Zachry will lead engineering, procurement, project management, construction planning, and commissioning, drawing on its five decades of experience designing and building over 100 gas-fired facilities totaling more than 60,000 megawatts. Quanta will contribute field-level leadership and craft workforce management through its operating companies. This collaborative approach is designed to enhance execution certainty, optimize labor resources, and deliver cost-effective, high-quality infrastructure.
