SHERMAN, Texas (KTEN) - As the company celebrates 30 years, Raising Cane's in Sherman is partnering with ARFhouse, a local organization dedicated to caring for abandoned and abused dogs. The restaurant is selling limited-edition 30th Birthday Plush Puppies for $12.99, while supplies last. Net proceeds from every Plush Puppy sold will benefit ARFhouse. ARFhouse is a sanctuary for abandoned and abused dogs and works to provide them with medical care, spay and neuter services, and a safe place to stay while they wait for a permanent home. Each year, Raising Cane's introduces a new, special-edition Cane Plush Puppy, inspired by the company's namesake. Proceeds from the Plush Puppy Program support pet welfare organizations and other initiatives both locally and across the country. According to the company, the program has donated more than $9 million over the years to causes including rescues, dog parks, shelters and other pet welfare initiatives.
Raising Cane's opens Birthday Pop-Up Museum in Baton Rouge. August 27, 2026 BATON ROUGE - Raising Cane's turns 30 on Aug. 28, and the Restaurant Brand is celebrating right where the party started. In honor of 30 Years of ONE LOVE(R)- Craveable Chicken Finger Meals(R)- Cane's opened a one-of-a-kind pop-up museum Aug. 25 next to the original Raising Cane's Restaurant in Baton Rouge, best known as "The Mothership." The admission-free museum invites Caniacs inside owner and founder Todd Graves' unlikely journey from a Chicken Finger business plan everyone questioned to more than 1,000 restaurants around the world. Thirty years and more than 1,000 restaurants later, Graves is still leading the Brand he started in Baton Rouge, making Cane's one of just four of the 46 restaurant businesses with 1,000+ locations still led by its original Founder. Today, Cane's has 95,000+ Crew, with more than 1.1 million Crewmembers hired and 30,000 promotions throughout its history, and Graves was recently recognized as one of Glassdoor's Top CEOs for 2026. Located at 132 E. State St., less than 100 steps from "The Mothership," the 30th Birthday Pop-Up Museum brings that journey to life through historic photos, memorabilia and actual artifacts from Graves' earliest days, including his original business plan and briefcase, the hard hat he wore working 90-hour weeks as a boilermaker and original blueprints from "The Mothership." Also on display is a Cane III statue, 3D modeled off of Cane III's exact body and stature and the original disco ball Graves hung inside "The Mothership" to cover a skylight, a decorating decision that became a signature design element still found in Cane's restaurants today. Outside, Caniacs can get an up-close look at The Margaret Mae, the actual 1979 boat Graves worked aboard fishing sockeye salmon in Alaska to help earn the money he needed to fund his restaurant dream. Upstairs, Caniacs can step even further back in time with a guided tour of Graves' restored Apartment No. 4, the small second-floor apartment overlooking "The Mothership" where he lived and Cane's earliest Restaurant Support Office operated. Graves even moved his bed into the living room so he could see the restaurant and its Drive-Thru from his window and jump in alongside his Crew whenever things got busy. After purchasing the building years later, Graves recreated the apartment down to the smallest '90s details, from the brown paisley comforter and VHS tapes to the old-school computer, cereal boxes sitting on top of the refrigerator and even the bathroom scale. Beginning Aug. 25, Caniacs can visit the museum admission-free from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. weekdays through Sept. 24, with pre-arranged group tours available through RaisingCanes.com/30thBirthdayMuseum. The downstairs museum will be open for self-guided exploration, while Graves' upstairs apartment will be available through guided tours. Cane's isn't only celebrating by looking back. In honor of its 30th birthday, Cane's is committing $30 million over the next 10 years to pet welfare organizations, supporting pets and the Communities that love them. Graves is taking that commitment even further through the Todd Graves Family Foundation with a personal $20 million pledge to Re:wild, the wildlife conservation and preservation organization founded by his good friend Leonardo DiCaprio. Aug 26 2026 Raising Cane's will open six restaurants across five states in September, including its first locations in Saginaw, Michigan; Gresham, Oregon; and San Francisco. The chicken-finger chain will also expand its presence in Cleveland, Tennessee; Westminster, Colorado; and Nashville, Tennessee. Raising Cane's San Francisco restaurant will open at 211 Jefferson St. in Fisherman's Wharf, marking the brand's entry into the city. The restaurant will feature locally inspired décor tied to the surrounding community. An opening date has not yet been announced. "September is an exciting month for Raising Cane's as we bring our ONE LOVE - Craveable Chicken Finger Meals - to new communities and continue growing in markets where our Caniacs are hungry for more," a Raising Cane's representative said. (WOOD) - Raising Cane's is working to open a restaurant in Holland Township as the fast-food chicken chain continues to grow its presence in West Michigan. A restaurant is planned for 12353 James St. near US-31, within The Shops at Westshore, according to Holland Township Planning Commission documents. The site is currently a parking lot west of Burlington. The 3,000-square-foot building would include a double drive-thru lane, indoor seating for 45 people and an outdoor patio, planning documents indicate. Once construction begins, it's expected to take around 200 days. The Holland Township Planning Commission is set to review the site plan at its Sept. 1 meeting. Raising Cane's currently has restaurants in Kentwood and Portage, with additional locations in the works in Grandville and Walker. The chain is known for its chicken fingers, crinkle-cut fries, Texas toast and signature sauce.
