About the job
- A bachelor's degree is required.
- One year of experience in personnel, guidance, industrial, sales, or social work is required; a master's degree in one of those areas may be accepted in lieu of this experience.
- Knowledge of social awareness, teamwork, record keeping, the community job market, computer literacy, oral and written communication, presentation and public speaking, and employment preparation is required.
- Bilingual ability in English and Spanish is preferred.
- Conduct regularly scheduled group orientations and detailed individual assessment sessions.
- Oversee and ensure proper completion of orientation and assessment paperwork.
- Schedule and conduct one-on-one assignment appointments for employability plans and assessment reports, and assign individuals to appropriate work activities.
- Verify and document program participant activity in databases and paper files, including attendance, participation, future needs, and goals.
- Provide ongoing counseling, advocacy, and liaison services to program participants.
- Complete assignment paperwork and documentation for timely submission.
- Orient new program participants to placement program rules, regulations, and policies.
- Confer with program staff and participants to determine appropriate vocational goals.
- Conduct project presentations to potential local employment partners.
- Meet regularly with program participants and provide employment leads to assist their job-search efforts.
- Coordinate and conduct Job Readiness Training groups.
- Complete required documentation and expenditure reports, and conduct employment verification and follow-up in a timely manner.
- Partner with project staff to ensure the needs of program participants assigned to Career Systems Development for services are met.
