Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • One year of experience in personnel, guidance, industrial, sales, or social work is required; a Master's degree in the specified areas may substitute for the experience.
  • Knowledge of social awareness, cooperation with a team, record keeping, the community job market, computer literacy, oral and written communication, presentation and public speaking, and employment preparation is required.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish ability is preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct regularly scheduled group orientations and individual detailed assessment sessions.
  • Oversee and ensure proper completion of orientation and assessment paperwork.
  • Schedule and conduct one-on-one assignment appointments for employability plans and assessment reports, and assign individuals to appropriate work activities.
  • Verify and document program participant activity in appropriate databases and paper files, including attendance, participation, future needs, and goals.
  • Provide ongoing counseling, advocacy, and liaison services to program participants.
  • Complete assignment paperwork and documentation for timely submission.
  • Orient new program participants to placement program rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Confer with program staff and program participants to determine appropriate vocational goals.
  • Conduct project presentations to potential local employment partners.
  • Meet regularly with program participants to provide employment leads supporting their job-search efforts.
  • Coordinate and conduct Job Readiness Training groups.
  • Complete required documentation and expenditure reports, and conduct employment verification and follow-up in a timely manner.
  • Partner with project staff to ensure the needs of assigned program participants receiving services are met.
  • Perform other required duties.
