Requirements
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field is required.
  • At least 7 years of quality assurance experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, or medical device manufacturing is required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a managerial or leadership role overseeing quality assurance teams is required.
  • Strong knowledge of United States Food and Drug Administration regulations, ISO 13485, and other regulatory standards is required.
  • Experience with quality assurance audits, inspections, corrective and preventive action investigations, and risk management is required.
  • Proficiency with quality management system software and documentation control systems is required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities and a data-driven approach to decision-making are required.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems in accordance with United States Food and Drug Administration, ISO 13485, and applicable regulations.
  • Lead internal and external audits, regulatory inspections, and corrective action plans.
  • Oversee batch record reviews, deviations, non-conformance reports, and change controls.
  • Develop and enforce standard operating procedures and best practices across manufacturing operations.
  • Collaborate with research and development, production, and regulatory affairs teams to ensure that new products and processes meet quality standards.
  • Monitor and analyze quality metrics and key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to good documentation practices and data integrity policies.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the quality assurance team.
  • Train manufacturing and quality teams on quality systems and root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for quality-related issues and escalations.
  • Identify quality risks and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Lead investigations and root cause analyses for product defects, deviations, and non-conformances.
  • Drive Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new regulations, and technological advancements in medical device in-vitro diagnostic quality assurance.
