About the job

Requirements
  • Direct experience leading a large-scale, brownfield ERP or enterprise systems transformation, migrating off or replacing an existing system rather than undertaking a greenfield build; experience extending beyond core financials into a major module such as manufacturing or supply chain is ideal.
  • Personal ownership of both Enterprise Technology and Systems Engineering functions.
  • Experience managing Director-level direct reports in a leader-of-leaders scope.
  • Experience operating in a manufacturing, construction, or data center environment, or in a compliance-regulated environment such as SOX or SOC 2.
  • Deep expertise in identity and access management, device management, endpoint platforms, system integrations, and APIs.
  • Experience managing IT budgets, vendor relationships, and build-vs-buy tradeoffs.
  • Ability to communicate technology strategy, risk, and investment tradeoffs credibly to senior leadership and operate at strategic and execution levels.
  • Experience leveraging AI to drive efficiency and automation across IT operations.
  • At least 15 years of experience across IT operations and enterprise systems, including at least 8 years leading multi-function IT or enterprise technology organizations at scale.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the Service Desk, Systems Engineering, and Enterprise Technology functions, managing Director-level direct reports.
  • Own large-scale enterprise systems and ERP transformations, migrating and modernizing platforms across Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and CRM.
  • Manage the enterprise systems portfolio, including ERP platforms, CRM, Supply Chain, and other business systems.
  • Define and own the multi-year enterprise technology roadmap, assess current architecture, establish a target-state architecture, and guide technical teams and business stakeholders toward alignment and execution.
  • Own global IT operations and service delivery, including SLAs, escalation models, and operational metrics.
  • Champion AI adoption across IT operations to automate workflows, increase team capacity, and reduce manual effort at scale.
  • Oversee identity and access management, including directory services, SSO, MFA, and role-based access controls, as well as the complete IT asset management lifecycle.
  • Develop and manage annual IT budgets and vendor performance to maximize value from technology investments and vendor relationships.
  • Direct IT buildouts for new locations, manage onboarding and offboarding processes, and establish governance for change management, access controls, and system reliability.
Desired Qualifications
  • SAP experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting a company through IPO readiness.
  • Experience at an infrastructure, cloud, or AI company, particularly one that builds physical infrastructure at scale.
  • Experience leading technology modernization or transformation initiatives through multiple company milestones, including IPOs or major M&A integrations.
  • Familiarity with hybrid infrastructure environments, including public cloud and private cloud.
  • MBA or equivalent business strategy experience.

About the company

Crusoe builds and runs data centers for artificial intelligence, placing them near cheap or otherwise wasted energy and handling everything from the power supply to the cloud software. It developed the flagship campus in Abilene, Texas, for Stargate, the AI infrastructure project backed by OpenAI and Oracle. AI companies rent its GPU servers on demand or under longer contracts through Crusoe Cloud to train and run their models, while larger customers lease entire campuses that Crusoe develops and operates for them. The company was founded in 2018, when it began running computers at oil fields on natural gas that would otherwise have been burned off, and it is based in Denver.

What believers are saying

  • Room to grow: Crusoe listed 358 open roles in October 2026, from cloud engineering to factory work.
  • Equity has a path to cash: Crusoe was meeting IPO banks, including Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan, in August 2026.
  • Steady work ahead: Crusoe reported over $140 billion in signed customer contracts in September 2026.

What critics are saying

  • Projects aren't safe until built: Google asked Crusoe to leave a 1.8-gigawatt Wyoming campus, then took over in July 2026.
  • The hard part is ahead: only 1 of the 6-plus gigawatts Crusoe had signed was running in September 2026.
  • Less upside for new hires: Crusoe's valuation hit $30.9 billion in September 2026, triple its October 2025 level.

What makes Crusoe unique

  • It makes its own electrical gear instead of waiting on suppliers: two Tulsa factories have built over 2,500 switchboards.
  • Its own MemoryAlloy software lets GPUs share memory, so AI answers start up to 9.9 times faster in Crusoe's tests.
  • Its power-ready land is in demand: Microsoft leased 900 megawatts at Abilene in March 2026 after OpenAI and Oracle passed.

Thinking Machines Lab signs $65M deal with Crusoe for AI inference infrastructure

Crusoe, a vertically integrated AI infrastructure provider, has signed a $65 million annual agreement with Thinking Machines Lab to power inference for the lab's open models on Crusoe Cloud. Through Crusoe Managed Inference, Thinking Machines Lab will serve production workloads including its Inkling models, GLM 5.2 and 5.3, on NVIDIA HGX B200 systems connected with NVIDIA Quantum-2 InfiniBand networking. The service enables Thinking Machines Lab to scale without managing its own inference stack. The companies plan to expand into batch inference for large-scale synthetic data generation. Thinking Machines Lab joins other clients that have taken Crusoe Managed Inference past $100 million in contracted annual recurring revenue less than a year from launch.

Crusoe signs multiyear Perplexity cloud deal for Nvidia AI chips

Crusoe has signed a multiyear cloud agreement to supply Perplexity with Nvidia AI chips for model training and inference, Bloomberg reported Tuesday. The deal's financial terms and capacity were not disclosed. Under the agreement, Crusoe will manage the technology throughout its operating life. More than 1,800 Crusoe employees will receive access to Perplexity's Enterprise Max product, which provides AI-powered search tools. The contract adds to Crusoe's growing cloud business, which recently secured a five-year agreement with Jane Street worth roughly $13 billion. In June, Crusoe reported 4.9 GW of contracted AI infrastructure capacity across its data centre projects and cloud platform, with a development pipeline exceeding 40 GW. Crusoe opened a 400,000-square-foot manufacturing plant in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Monday.

Crusoe opens second Tulsa facility, doubles workforce to 300 for AI infrastructure manufacturing

Crusoe has opened its second manufacturing facility in Tulsa, Oklahoma, adding 400,000 square feet to its operations and bringing its national manufacturing footprint to roughly 1 million square feet. The AI infrastructure company has hired more than 300 local workers across its two Tulsa sites, up from the 100 initially expected when the first facility opened in 2024. The facilities produce electrical equipment for AI infrastructure, including medium-voltage switchgear, low-voltage switchboards, electrical enclosures, industrial controls, and custom-fabricated copper busbar. The company has supplied more than 2,500 switchboards to its Stargate Project site in Abilene, Texas. Crusoe now employs more than 1,800 people, with 15,000 skilled workers across its sites. The company manufactures components in-house to reduce production time and maintain quality control.
